The view from our hotel room window was three walls and a rock roof with a distance of 8 feet between our window and the wall. I could not see the sky or the skyline. I called the front desk and asked if we could change rooms and possibly get a room with a better view. I was told there were no rooms available. The rooms available in our upgrade price all had a wall view. I began to feel claustrophobic and I felt my anxiety coming on. I called the desk again, reworded my question and explained how I was feeling and asked if we could move rooms again. They could accommodate us, but a room with a view of something other than a wall would be a downgrade. We already used the toilet and he told me that housekeeping left at 4 pm and there was no one to clean. My intent was to spend a nice romantic evening with my husband, but instead we spent as much time outside of the room as possible. My opinion, the front desk should ask visitors if they prefer a view the city streets or a wall. You have to valet park for $32 a night.
Positives: The location - it was 0.5 miles from any attraction.
Negatives: The view, the shower and there wasn't any reading material available in the room. Talking about the attractions in New Orleans.

International House New Orleans is a very comfortable, yet affordable, hotel in New Orleans. The location is fantastic, 2 blocks from Canal/Bourbon, leaves enough room to be away from the constant party, but close enough to get there quick. Harrah's is also just down the street! The room was comfortable. My only complaint was the TV, which was quite dated and only about 22 inches. Normally not important in New Orleans, except the all star game was on!
Positives: Good location, decor, and the staff.
Negatives: TV.
