This hotel is old and while the staff tries to take care of it you are talking about New Orleans. Here the standard of cleanliness and care is not the same as other places. I hope not to stay in this hotel again.

Positives: The bed was comfortable.

Negatives: No hot water. Construction started outside the window at 5 am.

The Bourbon Orleans is a great hotel for the leisure traveler wanting to immerse themselves in the middle of the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Positives: Location was great.

Negatives: The rooms were nice, but not 3.5 star

Beautiful hotel. We stayed in room 462. Facing the courtyard. that was kinda boring, but any upgrade was a $80.00 a night increase! The hotel is a huge square if you stay in a room like ours you have to take the elevator and then walk
four halls around to get to the end where our room was! Its a long walk when you are tired and hot! A very small Rouses grocery store is a few steps from the hotel. Good place for snacks. The hotel was clean. The staff was nice. Parking is $35.00 a day. But that is about norm for no.

Positives: Location!

Negatives: The rooms are very small.

Overall, the hotel is very nice, great location, in the center of French Quarter. But they put us in a very small room on the back side of the hotel over looking the garbage can. We could everything when they took trash out. The floors in the room have not been vacuumed of cleaned in a while (many stains and dust) the plug in socket on the wall was broken and exposed, the shower head was broken, the shower curtain was torn and barely hanging amongst other things. Called to ask if we could get another room and they said they couldn't.
I told them of our problems.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Terrible room with lots of problems.

This is a wonderful hotel centrally located in the French Quarter. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the concierge is very knowledgeable.

Positives: The location is excellent for exploring the French Quarter on foot.

Negatives: The daily parking is expensive.

The hotel ran out of hot water! All the guest had to take cold showers! The customer service staff did not seem to care and didn't even offer a late check-out (after the hot water was fixed). On top of it all, Internet connection was extremely poor (and they charge you $9.95)!

Positives: Nothing

Negatives: The hotel ran out of hot water! All the guest had to take cold showers!

Told the person behind the desk twice our safe didn't work. Nothing done about it. Had the temperature control up to 84 and still freezing.

Positives: The restaurant was the best ever!

Negatives: Rooms too cold.

Hotel is in dis-repair. Likely not improved since Katrina. Bathroom floor tiles broken, torn shower curtain, molding held on with duct-tape. Old, dingy carpeting. Function rooms rented to band camp that played past 10 pm directly across our guest room.
Positives: Location is in the center of the French Quarter.

Negatives: Hotel is in dis-repair. Noisy functions spill over to guest rooms. $32 per night parking.

Hotel is gorgeous, staff was super awesome and helpful, I read people complaining about the distance from the elevator but that is no concern, there are stairs and also the housekeeper let us use the staff elevator, it was pretty noisy in the halls at times but we didn't come to New Orleans for sleep. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!

Positives: Awesome location, close to all the action, beautiful hotel.

Negatives: Small room, very humid!

The location was perfect on the corner of Bourbon St. and Orleans. The lobby was immaculate and impressive. Hotel staff was extremely helpful in directing us to our room and even showing us a shortcut by taking the service elevator. Although the room was tiny and the knob kept falling off in the shower, I found the room to be comfortable and clean. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Positives: Beautiful patio and pool area, good view from the bedroom.

Negatives: Room was tiny and shower handle kept falling off making it difficult to control temperature.

European feel Great location.

Positives: Excellent location. Friendly staff.

Negatives: Small room .Expense valet parking.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 21 Mar 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

Valet parking took over 40 minutes to retrieve vehicle one day and over 45 minutes the next day. They did accommodate us by not charging us for parking.

Positives: Staff at restaurant was very friendly.

Negatives: Carpets in the hallways were worn and filthy.

Staff was great. May need to look in on cleaning crew. Rooms were not clean.

Positives: Location was great. Staff was very nice & attentive.

Negatives: The bathroom of our room was not clean. The person checking in before us told us his room was not clean either.

The room was small, but clean, tidy, and well maintained, in addition to very quiet - something important when in close proximity to Bourbon Street! The staff was very friendly, and there was a nice work-out room. Staff was a little noisy in the mornings (woke me up two mornings - keep it down ladies!!!), but overall the value I received for my money was fantastic!!! Go priceline!

Positives: Location! You cannot get any better in the Quarter than this!

Negatives: I probably had the worst room in hotel in terms of view (half a roof/wall covered outside of window).

I cannot stress enough how PERFECT the location of this hotel is. It's right behind street. Louis Cathedral and right on Bourbon street. With it's close proximity to Bourbon street, our room still remained quiet. We were able to walk to all of the shops, the river and the infamous cafe Du Monde (the hot chocolate was amazing!). One of the downsides was the price of valet parking ($32), although this did provide us with a sense of security by not having to park our car on the street. Also, the room was TINY and the bed was one of the hardest I've ever slept on (I didn't get much sleep.)

Positives: The location was perfect! We were able to walk everywhere!

Negatives: The room size was small, and the bed was uncomfortable.

Carpet needs a work on it.

Positives: Located close to everything and walkable distance.

Negatives: Carpet looked dirty or very old so felt odd seeing it.

Booked the balcony room knowing ahead of time it would be loud. It was, until 3 or 4 am. It's a good room for those wanting to experience the magic of the French quarter. Was told I'd be charged $30 for parking. Was charged $32 for having a minivan. Had the extra charge removed from my bill, but my credit card statement shows is was re-charged later. Watch out for these crooks!

Positives: Nice quarter view.

Negatives: They overcharged me.

This is a beautiful hotel in an ideal location for visitors to the French Quarter. Situated in the block between Bourbon street and St. Louis Cathedral, you are a 5 minute walk or less from Jackson Square, the cathedral, Cafe DuMonde, the river, Pat O'Brians and more. A 10-15 minute walk up Bourbon Street to Canal and you can catch the $1.25 streetcar to the Garden District or Uptown. The lobby and pool areas are beautiful and our room was clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable. Concierge and bell staff was helpful and prompt. The price on our king room for the last weekend in May was excellent compared to the rates for many other large cities. The location couldn't be better. We highly recommend and would stay again. The fold out map given with the key card was very helpful.

Positives: Location was ideal and the price was good.

Negatives: The only thing I can think of is if the shower head were higher.

Hotel in the heart of the French Quarters. Be prepared to walk every where after hours. Be prepared to pay $30 per night for parking.

Positives: Close to Bourbon Street.

Negatives: No parking, road closures after hours. Extra costs for 2nd bed.

This was a great location (the middle of the French Quarter). The room was very small and we could hear the people in the hallway very loudly from inside our room. The staff was nice and the room was clean. Valet was a little expensive for the area ($30 a day) but they were prompt in getting our car for us. The hotel restaurant was good and the bar was ok also. We would stay here again.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: The size of the room (small); expensive parking.

I loved this hotel. It was the perfect location to Boubon Street and very close to Jackson Square and the French Market. Most interesting were the stories of a ghost that lives in the lobby. (We went on a ghost tour which I suggest to do) The restaurant was just ok but then there are so many places close by to eat. I loved the valet clerk who looked like Matt Damon.

Positives: Perfect location in the French Quarter. Spacious rooms, friendly staff. Loved it. Would stay again.

Negatives: The restaurant was just ok, but there are plenty of other places in the quarter to eat.

Price was right ultimately-would (conditionally) stay there again-maintenance needed on commode tank mechanism (very loud squeal when flushing)-location (if staying in the Quarter) is very good-reports of extremely loud boisterous young groups evening before (luckily we stayed there Sunday night only).

Positives: Location, location, location-taxi (5:30 am) was waiting-internet available w/o additional cost.

Negatives: Over anxious bellman grabs luggage (we pull our own-expensive jewelry inside)-delay bringing to room-had to retrieve.

Everything about the hotel was great. Perfect location to many attractions/restaurants. Did not have to use our car while we were there for the weekend. Very friendly staff and beautiful hotel.

Great overall experience, when we first got there the room was not prepared properly but the staff responded immediately and made things right. I would stay again without a second thought!

Positives: The public space was amazing and the convenience of location was great.

Negatives: The 6 floor was freezing in the hall way and the walk from the elevator was cold.
