This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. You think you will be getting great service and atmosphere for the price you pay, but it is not so. Terrible hotel. Will never go back and never recommend to anyone.
Positives: The air conditioner worked well.
Negatives: Most everything about it.

We only stayed one night so it served it's purpose until we could get our free room at the Hilton.
Positives: Close to Harrah's parking.
Negatives: High parking prices. Very old. Wooden floors in room not only creaked but didn't line up even.

The hotel was a quaint old hotel in the center of major attractions. It was not 5 star by any means but we loved it!
Positives: Friendly staff, convenient location to attractions, comfotable.
Negatives: Nothing

Overall, this hotels room alone made up for all flaws!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Negatives: Check out time.

The hotel was nice. The rooms are small and the walls are thin. You can expect to be disturbed by noisy neighbors in the middle of the night. However, the location was prime and the hotel staff was friendly.
Positives: The location was great.
Negatives: The walls were thin and I could hear all the commotion in the next room and halls.

Everything was great until I had to park my car. The hotel itself was reasonably priced for the location, but the additional parking costs of $40.00 per day + taxes + tip for the valet could have paid for another night in a room somewhere else. I liked the hotel, but probably won't be back.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: Parking costs.

Except for the bathroom and the constant thumping of the departing traffic all night in the adjacent parking decks, the hotel was a pleasure. Also the surprise 7.95 tack on for phone and wireless connection whether you needed it or not daily was uncalled for.
Positives: It was very quaint and reminiscent of New Orleans old days.
Negatives: The bathroom tile and flooring was cracked and molded.

It worked. Do not expect customer service, but the room was neat and the decor was nice.
Positives: Brick interior walls.
Negatives: The valet did not help with bags.

Nice place. Decent value.
Positives: Location, the bare brick wall in the room.
Negatives: Staff could stand to be a lot more friendly and our room was never (ever) cleaned!

Very beautiful and historic. The Staff is a little stuffy, but the hotel is absolutly beautiful and right off canal street.
Positives: Very unique.
Negatives: They have hidden fees and the staff was somewhat unfriendly.

The ambassador has charming rooms however the building is old and the walls are thin, thus sound travels through them. Also, my room was checked in to myself and someone else so when I opened the door there was someone in my room. I had a poor experience although I believe the hotel has the potential to be quite nice.
Positives: Charming.
Negatives: Walls were very thin and the room was noisy.

The hotel is not a safe place to enjoy. Blue films are being shot in the hotel lifts. There is unbearable noise of people in the nearby rooms and those moving in the corridors. The toilet bowl was over flowing and that was ridiculous. The only good thing about the hotel is downtown location. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Positives: Just the location was good, nothing else.
Negatives: Dirty bathrooms, flooding toilet bowls, stinking rooms, broken furniture.

Cozy and authentic New Orleans style of hotel. Loved the hardwood floors and iron framed beds. Clean.
Positives: Right in the heart f new orleans, walking distance to many places.
Negatives: Not enough check in staff to accomadate every one in the 45 minutes i had to wait and check in.

Liked the look of the old building, but facilities were not kept well: rust on sliding door, bottom of tub was stained gray, inconsistent water pressure, no drapes, thermostat was broken, no wireless, parking was not guaranteed. Lobby smelled of smoke.
Positives: Bartender was friendly, bellhop and valet were timely. Building is attractive.
Negatives: Cleanliness of room and bathroom, tub in particular. No drapes, towels were frayed.

It had a great location but after going out in New Orleans at night you definitely want a shower and coffee the next morning, the room had neither. But the room was really romantic with the hard wood floors and tall ceilings. It was only $5 more in the public parking out front but you did not have to wait for the valet to get it for you. I would try it again but I will check the shower as soon as I check in next time.
Positives: Great location, good prices, beautiful room.
Negatives: Shower did not work, had a coffee maker but no coffee.

It was a very attractive room and cozy for one. Would recommend it to those who are looking for a convenient and out of the norm kind of place. Will definitely go back.
Positives: Very classic looking and comfortable.
Negatives: Could have used some windows in my room.
