The Pelham had a few issues. We had to change rooms due to wet carpet from the AC unit. The room we changed to did not have working AC. The parking was $28 per night plus tax. I found this a bit inconvenient in case I needed to use the car for anything.

Positives: Location was decent, staff was nice.

Negatives: Parking was expensive.

The staff was all very nice and helpful.

Positives: The location was excellent and the room was nice but really small.

Negatives: Was very dark in the room except for bed time and the lights and street noise made it impossible to sleep.

The hotel was located close to the casino so it was fine for what I needed. Needs some updating in some of the amenities offered. But overall the friendliness of the staff made up for any of the weak points. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

Positives: Close to the cities main drag & attractions.

Negatives: No windows in the room, no restaurant.

I woke up Saturday morning to find that there was an old blood stain on my sheets. I would have seen it the night before but there was not enough light in the room to see my bed! After finding the stain I called the front desk to send someone in to clean our room and change the sheets. Upon further inspection our bathroom towels were covered in pieces of hair, our sinks were dusty from not being wiped out and there was a piece of soap stuck to the bathtub wall (because it had passed the "so-called" inspection by staff I came back to the room five hours later to find folded sheets on top of the bed for me to change myself. Nothing had been cleaned up and there were not even fresh towels for the bathroom. When I checked out on Sunday the "Customer Service Manager" informed me that since we went through a third party they could not adjust the rate of my room. I insisted that something be done at least about my valet parking (which was a measly $56.00 and would have been no major cost to the hotel.) He told me that he didn't "want to take away from the people in valet" but I guess he was perfectly fine with taking away from the customer! I called to talk to the general manager after three days of unreturned phone calls from Pelham only to receive absolutely NO feedback or a sincere apology. I will never get over how absurd this entire experience turned out to be an how completely apathetic the staff reacted.

Positives: The only things I enjoyed about the Pelham was the help and empathy I received from the front desk clerks.

Negatives: The blood-stained sheets, complete lack of response by management, hairy towels and lack of cleanliness in my bathroom.

The overall experience was average for an older new Orleans hotel. The building had a lot of character but needs to be renovated. Location was good. There were a lot of "hidden" costs, such as: valet parking, phone usage, computer service, etc.

Positives: The bathroom had been recently renovated and was nice & clean.

Negatives: Looks like it's in the midst of renovations. Musty, needs new carpet & bedding & better cleaning.

I was extremely pleased with the hotel. I forgot to request a room with double beds because another gal and I shared this room because of a business meeting in Reston. I was able to get that by request when I checked into the hotel.

Positives: Convenience and quality.

Negatives: No negative items.
