The outside is beautiful and impressive. The lobby is equally so, so I was shocked when we checked into out room and it was kind of shabby. The room wasn't decorated very nicely and it had a lot of closets which took up a lot of the room, so we where cramped. The bed was terrible!
Positives: It was located in the French Quarter but was away from loudness of Bourbon Street.
Negatives: The room was musty and wasn't furnished in the way I would have expected for the way the outside looked.

The outdated room was a bit much, but the rest of the hotel was very attractive with an old-world feel. The front desk staff were kind and wonderful to us. The pool and courtyard made a cool, refreshing way to complete the day.
Positives: The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful to us. The pool/courtyard was relaxing and an attractive area. The lobby was beautiful.
Negatives: The room was stuffy, outdated and could have used some febreeze.

I enjoyed my stay at Le Richelieu because it was very convenient to all of the attractions of the French Quarter. I especially liked being near the trolley because I parked my car when I arrived and did not use it until I left. I visited the museums, rode in the carriage around Jackson Square, and ate at a number of charming restaurants. The people who worked the front desk were lovely and entertaining as well as helpful. My visit to Nola was outstanding. The hotel was older yet charming in a comfortable way.
Positives: The folks at the front desk were very helpful in planning daily activities and restaurants.
Negatives: The showers are in need of rennovation.

I love staying at this hotel. The rooms are very clean and are very generous for the Quarter. The restaurant, while not fancy, is pretty darn good for breakfast and is full of locals.
Positives: The suites are small apartments and the restaurant is very good.
Negatives: The rooms are a little dated.

Most of the front desk was helpful and really went out of their way to accommodate us with our room and tour requests. Easy use of the safe deposit box for our valuable. Pool side dining-good atmosphere. Loved the free parking. Need to probably update the rooms soon.
Positives: The French Quarter atmosphere and being on the fringe of the French Quarter.
Negatives: The air conditioning unit was finicky and need to pick up room service dishes from hall.

What a pleasant surprise! This is a gem. I met the owner as I was checking out. He lives there. He has had some employees for more than 30 years. It really is a family. Do yourself a favor and stay in this hotel.
Positives: Outstanding-greatly exceeded my expectations-very much like European hotels.
Negatives: No coffee maker in room.

Great service and friendly/helpful staff. Location was perfect at the quiet end of the French Quarter with easy car and walking access to all the great touristy parts of New Orleans. Our room appearance was a little dated, but totally comfortable and clean.
Positives: Picturesque setting, great location and price. Lots of character. Free Parking!
Negatives: Room decor was a little dated and worn, but well-kept.

Le Richelieu was a nice place to stay in New Orleans. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. The hotel room was nice sized with a balcony overlooking the streets and buildings in the French Quarter. It was very close to everywhere we wanted to go.
Positives: I really loved the staff and service. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It had everything we wanted.
Negatives: I thought the bathroom could be a little more up to date.

This hotel is a true European experience. Your room key is turned into the front desk when you leave the hotel. Although the hotel lacks modern security, I never felt unsafe. The front desk staff made excellent recommendations for dining, and filled us in on the local safe walking routes. The onsite, self parking is a definite plus, and you save the additional $15.00 - $30.00 fee other hotels charge for parking. We've stayed at here before and will again, but I hope they consider some upgrades at some point.
Positives: They are one of the few hotels that have on site, self parking with no additional fee in the French quarter.
Negatives: When we ran out of toilet paper, the front desk insisted we come down and get replacements. The mirrors on the walls in the rooms were distracting.

For anyone visiting New Orleans this is in the perfect location. It is in the French Quarter but in a quiet area. The people at the front desk, in the restaurant, etc were most pleasant and helpful. We would recommend this hotel and return as guests.
Positives: Quiet but in a great location for New Orleans.
Negatives: The room was a bit small but certainly adequate.

You can not ask for a better location for this hotel. It's just 2 blocks off bourbon street. The hotel has good atmosphere and an old history. It is one of the few hotels that include parking with each room. Good, overall, experience.
Positives: Great location, centrally located, friendly staff, rustic and romantic room.
Negatives: Room is due for minor renovation.

I really loved this hotel and will be back! Took my husband here for a surprise birthday trip. We had a great time seeing the city, a short walk to the busy parts of the quarter, but it was quiet at the hotel. Its location is amazing.
Positives: Location, location, location. This place was great because it was near everything we wanted to see, but quiet too.
Negatives: It was a bit old but that was it.

This is a lovely older hotel that has been well kept. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Pool area and bar well set up for visiting. Rooms were clean and had nice bedding. Even met owner who was proud to say he had all his original staff back after the storm. Will definitely stay here again.
Positives: Wonderful location with free parking-well kept grounds.
Negatives: Difficulty with internet.

We really liked this hotel. The room was a bit small, but it was o.k. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. Especially John, he was very helpful and knowledgeable with directions. Very willing to help with any questions we had. It was nice and quiet, easy to get to sleep but not that far from Bourbon Street and everything. We would stay here again.
Positives: The staff was very helpful.
Negatives: The room was a bit too small.
