Landry House Bed & Breakfast
Grand Isle, Louisiana
Landry House Bed & Breakfast is a bed & breakfast located in Grand Isle.
Located among 200 year old oak trees, this three-bedroom house was built in 1931 by Hamilton and Olivia Landry for $6,000.
The property was once part of the Barataria Plantation and is now a scenic and historical area. All material for the house was brought to Grand Isle by boat. The house was one of the first to have indoor plumbing and electricity. Water was supplied by Mother Nature and stored in cypress cisterns. Wood burning stoves were used for cooking until propane gas and stoves were brought to Grand Isle in the late 1930s. The house was enlarged in the mid 1950s and refurbished in the spring of 1996 by Hamilton and Olivia's son, Pat. There are antiques and pictures in the house that date back to Hamilton and Olivia's marriage.
Local dining options close to Landry House Bed & Breakfast include Yum’s Cafe, Starfish Restaurant, and Cisco’s Cajun Cantina.
