This was where she learned that fruit tasted best as a pie, and brownies were her favorite food group. She was a teacher for children with special needs for 10 years, but was always baking in her free time. After being diagnosed with food allergies as an adult, she started Annie May’s Sweet Café in February of 2010. At the time, it was an online store only, and she baked out of a shared kitchen. On June 15, 2011, she opened the first retail location in Louisville, KY. She continues to experiment in her kitchen in Louisville.
