Rockdale is a community in Boyd County, Kentucky. located south of Ashland. It is located on Midland Trail at it's intersection of Kentucky Route 538 and corridor into the city of Ashland. It was mostly a rural area until the 1970's, when a large subdivision began being developed here with several hundred tract houses.
If you are travelling in the area, Rockdale is located close to Barnett Cemetery, Slippery Rock Creek, Griffith Branch, Longlick Branch and School Number Seventeen (historical).
