Knottsville is a small unincorporated community in eastern Daviess County, Kentucky. The community was first laid out in 1836 by William R. Griffith and James Millay. The first house in the area was built in the fall of 1827 by Leonard Knott, for whom the town was named. The name of the community was set by the Honorable William R. Griffith while he was in the Kentucky Legislature. Knottsville is situated 13 miles east of Owensboro, Kentucky. Places to eat in the region include Norman Mcdonald’s.
