Jackson is a town in Breathitt County, Kentucky. Originally established as Breathitt Town in 1839, but was changed to Jackson in 1845. The town is named in honor after the war hero of the War of 1812, Andrew Jackson who had died that same year. It is the county seat of Breathitt County.
