Truro is a town in Madison County, Iowa. It was named after the city of Truro in Cornwall, by suggestion of the local train conductor, whose hometown was Truro, Cape Cod, MA. The first white settlers came to the Truro area around 1850, mainly from Ohio, and began farming.
