I had never stayed in a boutique hotel before, and my wife and I were excited about the opportunity! I must say that it did not disappoint! We were literally wowed at the appearance of the room when we entered it! What a unique decor! We loved it! However, I didn't care much for the hardwood floors.

Positives: The decor of this room was extremely unique and attractive!

Negatives: It was in the middle of nowhere!

Positives: Interesting and pleasant decor theme, cordial staff. Comfortable beds and bedding. Negatives: Front desk staff was satisfactory, but not very helpful or very friendly. I was told that because of the length of my stay (4 nights), when I called ahead to confirm my reservation and to let them know I'd be checking in after 9pm, I was told they weren't able to give me a room with a king size bed, although after my stay at Hotel Indigo I moved to another hotel for a 14 night stay and they were able and happy to give me whatever size bed room I preferred. Ice machines on every other floor, the floors with the ice machines reeked of smoke. Because of the hardwood floors in the room (which are attractive, but inconvenient), when my water glass slipped off the nightstand, it shattered. I cleaned up the glass the best I could and called the front desk to let them know. They did offer to have someone come up to clean it, but I told him because it was late and I needed to be up very early, I cleaned it up as best I could and put a towel there in case there were minuscule pieces. I asked him to let housekeeping know for the next day's cleaning and they would likely need to vacuum, but I still found glass pieces on the floor the next day after the room had been cleaned. The hotel has no microwave for hotels guests to use (even to use in the lobby area). Room towels were in very poor shape. Swimming pool towels should probably be rags.

Positives: The pool was a nice size and a great temperature.

Negatives: The building was old and seemed to be "painted over" with the newer and stylish decor, but it didn't detract from the fact that the hotel was old.

I wouldn't even want to go in that hotel again. Bad or, bad smell, bad location and very depressing. I bid for something in Schaumburg it wasn't in Schaumburg I called customer service nobody wanted to do any thing for me and why I am given some thing out of the area I am bidding for.

Positives: Nothing. And it smelled really bad couldn't wait to get out of there.

Negatives: Bad location and bad smell rooms .

Overall this is a wonderful hotel. This is my 3rd time there. None of the rooms I have stayed in has a fridge or microwave.

Positives: The wood floors.

Negatives: Parking lot was dark on one side of the building.

The hotel name is deceptive. It is not in Schaumburg. It is in Palatine.

Positives: cleanliness was acceptable.

Negatives: Hotel was not in Schaumburg as I requested. It also had no fridge or microwave.

I don't think this hotel met the star level I had purchased and for the amount, I would have been better off booking somewhere else on my own. It's outdated and needs major restoration.

Positives: Staff was friendly.

Negatives: Room was dirty and had bad odor, the curtains were old and badly stained, the bed uncomfortable. Overall totally outdated.

I am not a picky traveler, I gave good review for most of the hotels I stayed, but I was very disappointed at Hotel Indigo in Palatine. We have 2 children with us in one room, but they only provided 2 towels a day. When I asked the front desk for extra, they said the cleaning staff were gone, so they could only get us two paper-thin, rock-hard towels from the pool area. The bathroom doesn't have a bathtub, which I don't care, but stepping out of the shower, you need to be very careful not to bump into the toilet. The pool was boring and cold, no hot tub. The fitness room was dirty and old. The handle on one of the treadmills is broken. The beds, however, were clean. We had 2 rooms and nobody had any bedbug issue.

Positives: The bed was clean.

Negatives: Tiny bathroom, towel supply limited, hard towels, cold water in the swimming pool and

The hotel is older and it shows. The showers are not great. Two of the three doors to access the fitness center were not working. The elevators seem like they are going to break. Overall, the hotel seems to be falling apart. The location is not convenient (limited access to the expressway and few restaurants nearby).

Positives: Free Internet.

Negatives: Location, old hotel, broken door locks for fitness room, and restaurant.

Is not family friendly if you have young children. No bathtub makes it difficult and the pool is too deep for young kids. It advertises free WiFi but the Internet was out. Overall it was OK if we just wanted to sleep but not for much else.

Positives: Price.

Negatives: No bathtub. The pool wasn't warm and deep for young kids. Most hotels at this star level have continental breakfast.

The price was fine for this hotel. I choose Schaumburg in my location bid, and even though this hotel is in Palatine, and I got it in the bid, it was sufficient and close to my place of business. The hotel has a young crowd and my floor had a drunken party one night, but when I called at 4 am, they did quiet it down. The rugs, furniture, walls, and woodwork need to be repainted and freshened. The mattress and bedding were lovely, but the hotel's exterior is dated and drab, and the interior is fast becoming the same and a fridge in the room would be great.

Positives: The boutique effect they were going for was clever and nice, wood floors, vibrant colors, etc.

Negatives: The hotel needs to be cleaned up and repainted. The age and wear is showing too much.

It was a first time for us staying in a Hotel Indigo. We actually had never heard of them before and I was a little leery of it. When we arrived, we were fascinated by the modern decorations of the hotel. We were greeted at the front desk by a very friendly, helpful gentleman. The rooms were spacious and although you could tell they were a little old, they did a great job of updating the hotel.

Positives: Hotel Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Negatives: Breakfast Buffet wasn't very good for price.

We liked the vacation feeling colors and room decor, In enjoyed the heated indoor pool.

Positives: Laminate flooring rather than carpet.

Negatives: Bathroom sink small.

Arabic writing in on wall of lobby & cafe was not shown in English, so it was a little disturbing wondering what it meant. Otherwise the hotel was very nice.

Positives: Really nice rooms.

Negatives: Arabic writing in on wall of lobby & cafe.

Nice place just needs to clean up appearance a little.

Positives: Convenient location.

Negatives: Outer appearance was ugly.

First, this location is much better than the Chicago one, so if you can choose, go with Palatine. Bad things first: The worst part of my stay was the broken air conditioner in my room. The first night, it was very loud, but it was not so hot out and I just turned it off. The next night, it was a hot night, and that is when I discovered that it did not work. Too late to call anyone, at midnight. So I turned it off and suffered. Woke up to a puddle covering the entire floor. All of my bags were soaked. Told an employee on the way out, he couldn't have cared less. Other issues - old bar of soap in the shower, garbage still in the bathroom can, toilet tissue backwards on the roller, pool towels are more like mechanic shop towels and sized for the kitchen, TV is really old (no front hookups) and no good channels. Good stuff - complimentary Internet even though its not wireless, pretty room even though housekeeping tried to clean the wallpaper and left soapy circles dried up all over it, nice pool even though it looks small.

Positives: Beautiful decor.

Negatives: Are they cutting back on housekeeping?

This is an old building that is a freeway oriented property, and not within walking distance of any services such as a Starbucks or restaurant

Positives: Colorful, cheerful.

Negatives: Remote from services.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 14 Jun 2010 rated 6 out of 10.

OK as a place for a good night of sleep if that's all you want from a hotel; but has a poorly lit, uninviting restaurant, shallow, uninviting pool, cold and empty bar.

Positives: Friendly staff, comfortable bed/pillows and excellent temperature control.

Negatives: Expensive breakfast, long walk to room from lobby and hotel seemed almost empty.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 04 Jun 2010 rated 5 out of 10.

Hotel was adequate, but details need to be tended to. The exterior of the hotel was atrocious - overgrown weeds and bushes, poor paint job and neon flashing signs in the window. The interior was better, but still had flaking paint, chipped walls, dirty windows, and unclean floors.

Positives: Very fun color scheme.

Negatives: Hotel was a wreck. Paint chipping, walls gouged, no vending machines. Very cheap appearance.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 21 May 2010 rated 5 out of 10.

The hotel exterior is terrible, you can see that it is a redo. I was concerned that the inside would be awful and dirty. My room was clean, but the hallways were dingy. When I pulled up to the hotel the smell of greasy hamburgers filled the parking lot. I would not return even though the room was okay for a 1 night stay.

Positives: Staff was friendly upon my check in.

Negatives: Staff person was sleeping at the counter.

I loved my stay in the hotel and I would highly recommend it to family and friends.

Positives: I liked the decor in the rooms as well as lobby.

Negatives: It did not have a little fridge in room.

When a customer puts in a request for a 3 star hotel you should abide with certain minimum standards. This was worse than a Motel. The towels were so dirty that they had some -one's hair stuck on them, when a replacement was requested I was told to collect them from the front desk and even those were smelling so bad. No replacement toiletries were kept the next day.

<BR/>

Positives: There is nothing to be liked.

Negatives: It rates less then a MOTEL 6 in quality.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 04 Apr 2010 rated 4 out of 10.

The outside of the hotel looks pretty rough but once we walked in I had high hopes. The open spaces were very inviting. If only the room was as inviting. The table with the coffee maker had coffee stains and was dirty. The bathroom was very tiny with only a shower. My three year old was looking forward to the pool but we only stayed about 15 minutes because her lips turned blue. We asked for a rollaway bed but were told they didn't have any for this hotel. Also asked for an extra blanket and were told they didn't have any. WHAT? A hotel without extra blankets? Noticed when we were packing to leave that the blanket that was on the bed was covered in big yellow stains. Disgusting. We will never stay here agin.

Positives: I liked the color scheme of the hotel.

Negatives: Pool was freezing

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and I would not stay there again. The beds were dirty and I did not feel safe after the patio door was unlocked and open a bit when we checked in at 10:00pm. I was thankful that I checked it before going to bed.

Positives: The people at the desk were helpful and friendly.

Negatives: Slider was unlocked and open a bit at 10:00pm when we checked in. Chair outside our patio was removed during the night and there was hair on the beds.

It is an older hotel that has been renovated. Everything was clean and the desk staff was polite and helpful. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good value.

Positives: Free tea in my room.

Negatives: The bathroom ventilator didn't work.

After driving 12 hours (getting grid lock traffic in Chicago) I was tired. A very relaxing rest.

Positives: Bright cheerful colors of room.

Negatives: All was fine.

Good value, clean rooms, friendly staff, free internet and very cute design.

Positives: Very clean, neat and with good interior design.

Negatives: Nothing really.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 21 Aug 2009 rated 7 out of 10.

The room was clean and the decorations were nice. The bathroom was updated and also clean. It is an older building and it showed on the walls in the room. There were some cracks and spots that looked wet. The sliding door to the balcony was very old and you could barely see through the glass and the seal is broken. The hallways are very musty smelling along with the elevator. The elevator also did not work one of the days while we were there. I did not feel as though this was a 3 star hotel. It is also not in Schaumburg and that is the location that I had requested.

Positives: The decor of the hotel rooms were nice. The rooms were clean.

Negatives: Hallways smelled very musty. Elevator did not always work.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 31 Jul 2009 rated 10 out of 10.

One of the better selections I received through Priceline. Room was tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds with more pillows than I knew what to do with. Staff was friendly and recommended a good off site restaurant for breakfast as I didn't want to pay the prices for their on-site fancy restaurant.

Positives: Cute decor in the room, great toiletries

Negatives: Beds were too high off the floor for younger children. Used extra pillows as cushions.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 25 Jul 2009 rated 9 out of 10.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, everything we needed.

Positives: Amenities available, location, staff.

Negatives: Nothing.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 24 Jul 2009 rated 8 out of 10.

Very nice for us, but not the luxury you would associate with a 3 star hotel. Plus, the elevators and floor to where we parked were filthy for days. Looked like a dump from the outside.

Positives: The pool and decor were really nice.

Negatives: The hotel touted a spa experience in the bathroom, which was merely a shower!
