Definitely 4 star.
Positives: Very clean rooms, nice shower, great views of river & lake.
Negatives: Too far from north Michigan avenue.

This hotel was great and it was everything that I wanted in a hotel. The only problem that we had was on our checked out day we requested to have a late check out and the hotel wasn't willing to work anything out due to my reservation being booked thru a three party. This was something that we asked upon check in and they told us the same thing. The only way we could have received late check out was to pay and additional $50.00 for three (3) more hours. Not good.
Positives: The room and the bathroom was very nice.
Negatives: They didn't work with us on a last check because we booked thur a three party. And having to pay for the pool area.

We do not feel that we should have had to pay $120 extra for a king bed. Since it was the hotel's error, they should have absorbed the expense. We booked in June for our August 13th visit to Chicago.
Positives: We had a excellent view of Lake Michigan and the canal.
Negatives: We booked early for a king bed, when checking in we were bumped to 2 double beds, Had to pay more $$ for a king.

Positives: Location to Michigan Ave, clean, modern, price on priceline.com.
Negatives: The air conditioning didn't really cool the room adequately.

Wonderful place to stay. The rooms are clean and very modern. We had a beautiful view of the river, Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance too.
Positives: The excellent amenities in the room and the view of Navy Pier were exceptional.
Negatives: The valet parking was kind of a pain because we didn't have easy access to things we had forgotten in the car.

Overall, the hotel was better that I imagined. The front desk staff was very polite, friendly and willing to help us find where we were attempting to travel. The only complaint I have is that the male that was at the concierge desk was rude when we asked for information on the Shedd Aquarium.
Positives: The room and views were absolutely beautiful..
Negatives: The one concierge was rude.

Very good for the price. The lack of free wireless unfortunate at best. Pay per view movies did not work. We were awakened in the middle of the nigh with the T.V, turning on by itself. The downstairs atmosphere is somewhat cold--no hint of spoiling.
Positives: comfortable,clean,staff sweet.
Negatives: Pay per view didn't work.

Lovely, great location. Very clean, felt safe, great views of Lake Michigan. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Responded to the water problem but were unable to fix it. Excessive charge to have your car taken into and out of the garage. Charge should be on the web site. Had adjoining rooms with our grandkids, worked out fine.
Positives: Beds, rooms, pillows comfortable, staff was kind, friendly.
Negatives: Never had cold water in the bathroom sink.

When I checked in with my wife they said all they had was a room with 2 double beds but for another 50 bucks. I could upgrade to a room with a king size beds. I told them no thanks and then asked if the hotel was full. The girl said the hotel was completely sold out. This made no sense after trying to upgrade me for the right price.
Positives: Price and location.
Negatives: Checking in they don't tell you everything.

Overall this is an excellent hotel. The hotel lobby is warm and inviting and decorated in a modern mix of jazzy carpet, dark woods and elegant marble tile. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was a double queen size bed room, and the bathroom had a tub and separate shower. The beds were comfortable and had lots of extra pillows. Everything was extremely clean and in new condition.
Positives: Great location with wonderful views of downtown and Lake Michigan.
Negatives: Elevator service was very slow especially at check-out time.

This hotel is in a great location to all the sites and shopping. Really don't care to pay a fee per day per guest for the health club. Service at front desk could be improved.
Positives: The location of this hotel was excellent.
Negatives: The front desk staff and a couple of the concierge staff, could be a bit more friendly. Guest remembers excellent customer service.

The Sofitel is wonderfully situated, just east of the Mag. Mile and north of Millennium Park - great for walking. Unfortunately, the parking is outrageous we chose to park at Millennium Park, which is rather expensive, but was still nearly half the price of Sofitel. The restaurant was overpriced based on the poor service and food quality. Interior was well appointed, but certainly not luxury. Bathroom is nothing special.
Positives: View from the room, concierge, front-desk staff.
Negatives: The Palm, on-site, poor service, mediocre food at best - not what I expect for $70 a plate.

Very nice hotel,<BR/>some areas have exceptional view of the city.
Positives: Location/price.
Negatives: Extra charge for the pool/room had a poor view.
