I would definitely stay here again especially with children, sleeps six, full kitchen, able to take breakfast ( buffet style you) up to our room. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable re sightseeing.
Positives: Great location, we were able to walk or have free trolley everywhere even with the children. The free breakfast was excellent too!
Negatives: No.

Went there for the Chicago blues festival in June 2008. First time in Chicago and felt at home. The staff was helpful with every question I asked, including directions to Grant Park and other locations, I managed to see when there. Can't wait to go back and check in and see all the people of this beautiful and friendly city. Thanks again and thank you Chicago.
Positives: Liked the location to everything, music clubs, shops, and attractions.
Negatives: Food could of been better at hotel and served all week long.

Overall, a good stay, comfortable beds. The suite was small but nice. We just had an overnight stay but it was comfortable, convenient and clean. The late check-out was great. Need another set of elevators.
Positives: We were looking for a comfortable overnight stay following a concert. It met all of our expectations, comfort, location.
Negatives: Only two elevators, bathrooms kind of cramped.

This is just about a perfect hotel for traveling with kids of any age. We had a suite with a separate bedroom for adults, a pull-out couch for one kid and a free rollaway for the second kid (older kids of different genders). Smaller kids could just share the pull out couch). Full kitchen in the room for any emergency kid meals/requirements. TV in both rooms so Mom and Dad could watch a movie after the kids went to bed. The breakfast buffet was terrific-lots of choices (fresh blueberries were a wonderful surprise!). Great service. Easy to get a cab from the front entrance. Fantastic location near Navy Pier, Water Tower Place, Michigan Avenue, every kind of shopping. Great price. Quality of furnishings/decor in room was average-very clean, well designed, but not first class-but at these prices and with these amenities, I'm not going to complain one bit. I'd stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.
Positives: Great breakfast, great room for family with kids, great location, great pool-what a view!
Negatives: We stayed on Christmas Day and the free dinner buffet served Chinese food-it was good, but I question the choice.

This hotel was beautiful and in a great location close to downtown Chicago. We loved the free dinner (weekdays only) and the breakfast.
Positives: Great complimentary dinner and breakfast. We also enjoyed the free newspaper and pool.
Negatives: The fire alarm connected to the main light of the room. Check-in was a little late in the day.

The location was great for downtown. Close to shopping and bars. Staff was helpful. Hotel was clean except for some repair work in the hallway outside our room; however that was not a problem. Bed was comfortable. Lots of room, nice kitchen area.
Positives: Lots of room, overall quality, friendly staff.
Negatives: Couldn't add a room for friends, they stayed elsewhere.

Location was perfect, right by the river, just off Michigan aver. 16th floor, nice views. Room was very clean and quiet!! And the bed was just right. Large suite. Full-on breakfast buffet (free) was the best I¿ve had anywhere, and they offer a free dinner buffet also (I didn't try it). The staff was friendly, and the waitress in the dining room was just super! This place isn't pretentious, just excellent in every way.
Positives: Everything was better than I expected.
Negatives: Room had only 1 bed and sofa sleeper really needed two beds.

It definitely was more like a three-star hotel than 2.5. The location is excellent, centered near Michigan avenue, but close to the south loop attractions as well. Tons of local restaurants and stores within walking distance.
Positives: Suite for the price of a regular room.
Negatives: Parking is expensive.

Would definitely stay at the Homestead again. The location was great for access to the Loop/Theatre District and Michigan Avenue. Rooms were very comfortable and well equipped and most of the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Positives: Location, comfort of rooms, helpfulness of staff, wonderful hot breakfast.
Negatives: Elevators were a little slow, did not seem to be related to the amount of people in the hotel.

Wonderful hot buffet with restaurant-style seating and atmosphere. Nicely appointed rooms, all-suites with ample space. Only 1/2 block walk to the Metra red line; same distance to the free Navy Pier shuttle; close to restaurants and shops.
Positives: Spacious and comfortable; well appointed; great buffet.
Negatives: Discourteous staff when I called to confirm my non-smoking request; request was not logged into the system; fortunately onsite staff fixed it quickly.

In a bird's eye view, the hotel is very close to "Magnificent Mile", yet on the ground it is hard to see this from the front door since the new mall blocks sight of N. Michigan from Grand Ave. Management should provide in every room a flier showing pedestrian directions through the mall to N. Michigan. Another flier should picture the generous in house amenities. This would come across more conspicuously than the very small card listing amenities, hidden among other items handed to me at check-in. Just these two things are so easy to implement, yet can be so helpful to guests, who typically have a very short time to orient themselves.
Positives: In room kitchenette, separate living room and bedroom, complimentary hot breakfast buffet in dining room, full gym available next door.
Negatives: Mop damaged bathroom door, long fluorescent tube lightning high above vanity sink puts one face in shadow with greenish light.
