The Renaissance hotel was a perfect fit for my business stay. The staff was professional and friendly. It was a safe environment. The lobby was inviting and comfortable. My room was luxurious and clean with no annoying smells like bleach or carpet fresh. There was a Kinko's in the hotel which was wonderful!
Positives: The entire atmosphere from walking into the luxurious lobby to the friendly staff.
Negatives: No free internet service in rooms. Not good!

It was fine, nothing special to bring me back and again the driving experience to this location was difficult. $49 for parking is a little aggressive, but welcome to the city!
Positives: Great location for theatre district and our evening at the Chicago Theatre, very convenient.
Negatives: Difficult location as far as navigating. Lower Whacker Drive can be challenging.

If you go to Chicago, this is the place to stay. Right off Michigan Avenue, in front of the river. Robes in the room & Free Shoe cleaning service are some nice little pluses.
Positives: Recently renovated, great room, very comfortable bed.
Negatives: Really nothing to mention.

The hotel was first class. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and did an excellent job. They should investigate how to make the doors to the rooms close quietly instead of slamming shut - it is probably the only negative to our stay.
Positives: The in room safe was a plus for valuables.
Negatives: The slamming room doors did not permit sleeping past 6am.

I had a great time in Chicago and a large part of that is due to the wonderful stay I had at the Renaissance Hotel. Location excellent. Staff was excellent. Amenities excellent. I would recommend that any of my family and/or friends stay at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel.
Positives: Rarely does one experience a hotel staff as friendly, helpful, and happy as this group at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel. I felt so welcomed!
Negatives: The shower water never really got very hot.

My daughter and I traveled to Chicago to visit a college. We arrived by taxi and from the moment we were greeted you felt like a queen. The gentlemen at the front desk was so helpful to my daughter and talked about college choices. It was fun to walk to the shops inside, I used the FedEx Kinkos right next door. The rooms were divine I loved the bedding and the big TV. The bathroom was very clean. I felt safe and very relaxed. We were late checking out and the line was long so the concierge took care of us at her desk and was so polite. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants a fun night out in Chicago with a restful and quiet stay.
Positives: I thought the gentleman at the front desk and the concierge was by the far the best.
Negatives: Nothing.

Chicago is a beautiful city, but when you stay in a hotel like the Renaissance, it just makes everything that much nicer. Our room was everything we expected, and more. The staff was extremely courteous and the hotel is tastefully decorated. While we did not get a chance to eat at this hotel, the staff recommended nearby restaurants which were still open at late hours. We chose Smith & Wollensky's, which was excellent. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Positives: Beautiful & larger rooms than most big city hotels. Very clean.
Negatives: Steep parking fees.

When we arrived at the hotel, I asked for a room with a specific view and out came the hotel floor plan and I had my view in no time flat! The lobby always smelled liked fresh fruit and flowers, which was wonderful. The pool and spa area are kept very warm so it is relaxing and soothing. My only disappointment was that the roof deck is not open for all hotel guests, like the nearby Marriott on the Magnificent Mile.
Positives: The room, particularly the bathroom was so spacious.
Negatives: I wish the beautiful roof deck was open to all hotel guests nut just those dining.

You will pay for the convenience of this hotel's location and for high level of the accommodations and service, but they do supply the above in a most attractive setting.
Positives: Beds, location, efficiency.
Negatives: Charge for internet, expensive food and drink.

Situated on the Riverwalk the Renaissance (Marriot) hotel was easy walking distance to the Sears Tower and convenient to bus and light rail (to see museums and leave to O'Hare). The well-appointed corner room was spacious and bright, beds comfortable, and bathroom amenities superb. The steep fee for internet was prohibitive - $15/day! Considering most places offer it free, it was disappointing, but at least they offered a free workstation for printing our boarding passes. No coffee maker in room, but the Starbucks (serving warm breakfast sandwiches) in the lobby made that omission bearable.
Positives: Well lit and spacious room; convenient location; nice toiletries and comfortable beds.
Negatives: Internet fee; no coffee maker; expensive room service.

The Renaissance was very convenient to get everywhere in Chicago. There is a bus stop right out the back door and is an easy walk to Millennium Park. We were also traveling with two young children and the hotel restaurant caters to the young child crowd with children's menus and crayons.
Positives: The hotel had a wonderful pool and hot tub and allowed young children in both.
Negatives: The hotel rooms were small but this is to be expected in such a stellar location.

Great location for theater goers, very pleasant rooms, and lovely dining room especially for breakfast. Very helpful staff and nice area to sit on first floor off the lobby. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Positives: Location and breakfast buffet which had a lovely setting.
Negatives: Nothing.

We were just staying overnight for an event. It was a great location on the river. The rooms were clean, modern and very comfortable. It was convenient to shopping and the theatres.
Positives: The overall atmosphere and cleanliness of the hotel was great!
Negatives: Overnight parking was expensive.

Within seconds, we were greeted at the front of the hotel with a welcome to Chicago and that type of courtesy remained throughout our stay. Around every corner, the staff was very accommodating and set on making our stay a pleasant one. Parking fees are outrageous; there is a public ramp three blocks away that will save you $15 nightly. Keep an eye on some of these type of charges. Otherwise, the hotel is wonderfully appointed, nicely located, and we would absolutely be interested in staying here again!
Positives: Wonderfully courteous.
Negatives: Parking fees.

Very pleasant, convenient to Chicago attractions and transportation.
Positives: Great location and great price for the location.
Negatives: Nothing really extravagant that would make me think this was a true 4 star hotel.
