For the price I received it was nice. The hotel food (restaurants, room ordering over priced. Using public transportation, city sites were w/in minutes of hotel. Not used to added fees such as hotel parking. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Positives: Clean, friendly staff, some what convenient to downtown sites.
Negatives: Hotel food very expensive.

For the price of the place they should offer free internet, this helps with planning your vacation and finding places to visit while there. I also hated the fact that I had to spend as much as I did for parking, add that to the price of the room and I could have gone to a different place just as nice for a cheaper price.

Positives: The restaurant was very good.
Negatives: It cost me an additional 60 dollars for parking. also they charge for internet.

Beautiful hotel and a great location to see the whole city of Chicago!
Positives: The staff were helpful for us the deaf couple.
Negatives: There's no refrigerator in our room.

Good for a one night stay, but not more. So many better hotels.
Positives: Clean
Negatives: Staff, parking, and service.

Attractive hotel, comfortable rooms, friendly, personable staff. We felt welcome. Overall a great experience. Would visit again.
Positives: Clean, attractive, and friendly staff.
Negatives: The room had a slight smell of cigarette smoke covered over and some of the break food food didn't take fresh, slightly freezer burnt.

This stay made Chicago a better experience especially because it was the first time we visited Chicago. I would stay in this hotel again if I go again to Chicago. The staff were very helpful and friendly easing the unknown of a new place. It had an excellent view that looked over the city scape and the lake. This was generously given to us because it was our first visit to Chicago. We have a very modest income and because we used price line we could afford this experience.
Positives: It was clean, helpful when needed, love the view, great access to the bus line or taxi, food was very good.
Negatives: The parking should go down the longer you stay. There was a mistake on the billing that charged us 40.00 extra dollars but it was cleared up.

Overall nice hotel, staff was friendly, & the view was great. Superficially the hotel was beautiful but with close observation it seemed a little run down (one of my phones in my room was missing it's cord, there was staining on the wall next to the sink, & the bed had a person sized indentation). I would probably stay there again as long as I got a good rate of Priceline, but I wouldn't pay full price.
Positives: Overall clean hotel with good views.
Negatives: It seemed like it was not kept up maintenance-wise, it was clean but things were missing or falling apart.

Wireless should be free at every hotel despite the star level. It is free everywhere else. Just because it is a fancy hotel, this does not mean you should charge for every little thing as a luxury. If you are loaded with money, then this is definitely the hotel for you.
Positives: Very fancy and clean.
Negatives: Location was not convenient if traveling without a car. If traveling with a car, parking prices were high. WiFi was not free!

A good place to stay only if you want to be close to McCormick place.
Positives: It was large enough to have a good workout room.
Negatives: Tiny beds.

The hotel was very neat and clean. if we were attending an event at the convention center, it would be an absolute "no-brainer." we were there to see other things in the city and found it a little "out-of-the-way" in relation to the magnificent mile.
Positives: The fitness area was wonderful with friendly assistants.
Negatives: There was a fee to use wifi.

It was nice, clean and the staff was very helpful and attentive.
Positives: I liked the breakfast package that was included.
Negatives: I didn't like that it was far away from our destination.

Connected to the McCormick place, so it's convenient if you're attending a convention there. No free wifi/Internet at all, not even in public spaces, It's quite expensive to buy an internet pass. The business center isn't free at all. Lots of eating establishments on site. I ordered breakfast room service on my first day and it was good. I ordered the same breakfast a couple days later, it was lacking fruits etc. I had also ordered dinner room service, my panting tasted soggy and stale.
Pillow had stains on them. I also sneezed nonstop, meaning that the room was dusty. The TV doesn't work when it's raining. There's Internet TV, which you'd have to pay for too. Far from Mag Mile, but there's a direct CTA bus from front of the hotel and takes about 15 minutes. Closer to Chinatown than to Mag Mile.
I like the toiletries, they smell refreshing and not that cheap powdery smell you'd normally get in cheaper hotels.
Positives: Comprehensive facilities, by the lake, nice toiletries.
Negatives: Far from popular spots, no free wifi/Internet.

Price for both room and parking was excellent for Chicago. Also, cab fare was not as expensive as I thought it might be (about $10 from State and Adams). Service at check-in (Marina) was very courteous, did not treat me any differently than if I had booked through Hyatt. I would say this is an excellent value hotel if you don't mind a little walking or have to be right in the middle of the city. Easy to walk to Soldier Field.
Positives: Price for downtown Chicago.
Negatives: Not too much in immediate vicinity of hotel.
Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 05 Aug 2011 rated 9 out of 10.
Overall the hotel is upscale, friendly, accommodating and clean. The location is set a little bit apart from the Downtown action. You need to catch a bus, taxi or some other transport to the local attractions, because the walk is too lengthy. Park your car in their garage for about $30 per day and use local transport. The views from the upper story rooms are great!
Positives: The staff were very helpful and the view from our room was great.
Negatives: The heated pool was too cold to swim in comfortably.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 23 Jul 2011 rated 7 out of 10.
Elegant, not so much 'family friendly', hard to get adjoining rooms, even though it was requested immediately upon reserving and we arrived purposefully at 3pm to maximize our chances, given that they could not guarantee such accommodations, but felt it would not be an issue.
Positives: They got things right in the end.
Negatives: Check-in mislead me, causing me time to correct their mistake.

The Hyatt was attached to the Chicago convention center, so it is a good for business man and that's about it. I needed a razor and hair brush but the hotel did not have a gift shop or any stores walking distance so I can buy one. Not good for families.
Positives: The staff was very helpful with helping me get around the city.
Negatives: The location was in an unsafe area for a woman to walk around at night. A policeman told me not be out.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 02 Jul 2011 rated 7 out of 10.
Nice, but pricey.
Positives: It had a nice lobby and common area. The restaurants were convenient.
Negatives: You paid a premium for everything. I paid twice as much for the stay and got less than I received at the Marriott the night before.

The hotel was great - great views, courteous service, and nice room.
Positives: The entire staff was courteous.
Negatives: It was not convenient to the function we attended.

It was a basic hotel. The people at the front desk seemed unapproachable. We did not use the pool, however, it did look clean.
Positives: It was clean.
Negatives: I was able to hear the voices of the people in the rooms next to us.
Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 15 Dec 2010 rated 8 out of 10.
It was a nice hotel, it was clean and the staff was very friendly. I did not like that everything was an extra. You had to pay for the Internet ($10/day), parking ($30/day), breakfast, local phone calls.
Positives: It was very clean, and the staff was very friendly.
Negatives: I did not like that everything was an extra that you had to pay for. A local call, the Internet! Parking and breakfast.

Modern, relaxed atmosphere, large structure and clean. The layout was calming and the ambience was superb.
Positives: Overall, the hotel was somewhere I like to visit again soon.
Negatives: I didn't like the fact I didn't come here first instead of the first hotel I stayed at.

The area is definitely somewhat shady, and it's not in a convenient location by any means, however, if you can get the hotel for a cheap price, or if you have business or a conference in that area, and do not intend to be leaving your room much, then there is no problem. If you want to enjoy the downtown area, this may be difficult.
Positives: The rooms were nice, and the bed was comfortable.
Negatives: The four star rating is definitely overkill. Although the hotel was nice, I would say a three star rating is more amenable to the hotel.

Great hotel. Normal cost for room. I would never pay this price for a night. Thanks to Priceline.com.
Positives: Very nice for the priceline price.
Negatives: There was nothing I did not like.

Horrible noise problem from 11:30 PM - 2:30 AM. Drunk, rude people slamming doors, talking on cell phones in the hallway, laughing and general obnoxious behavior. Not recommended for business travel. Hotel completely unresponsive to complaint.
Positives: Free breakfast and Internet after complaining about noise problem.
Negatives: It attracts nasty guests who drink and make noise in the hallways at night.

The hotel was great with amazing views of downtown Chicago. With the exception of the young lady at desk on Wednesday evening, everything was wonderful.
Positives: The daytime front desk was very helpful.
Negatives: The night operator and front desk was rude and unpleasant to me and my family.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 15 Aug 2010 rated 6 out of 10.
I'll just take this space to add that we booked this as a reservation and then added a night. Consequently the hotel did not clean our room while we were gone for most of the day and that was frustrating.
Positives: The concierge was kind and helpful.
Negatives: 1) The operator was unprofessional telling me I should have dialed a different number to reach housekeeping. 2) They charge for everything-ex. WIFI.
Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 26 Jul 2010 rated 8 out of 10.
Great luxury for a great price, but McCormick Place is just kind of out of the way.
Positives: Spacious rooms.
Negatives: Location is away from downtown/attractions for young professionals.

A bit ambitious to call this a 4 star hotel - it's more like a 3.5 star. There are not enough elevators to meet demand, many people waited 10 minutes or more for an elevator. The freight elevator got stuck upon check-out, delaying the bellman, who failed to call for a replacement, almost making us miss an appointment. Location is a bit away from the main action of Chicago Downtown.
Positives: Nice valet parking service.
Negatives: Not enough elevators to meet demand.

Loved the view of the room I was in. It was comfortable, and I was able to get an upgrade from double beds to a King bed room. Everything ok except the cleanliness of the room was disappointing.
Positives: Elegant and kind people.
Negatives: Not clean.

Overall the hotel was nice. Had a little trouble locating it at first and when I called for directions the employee was rude. If I had payed the normal rate for this hotel
Positives: Great location.
Negatives: Web site stated they had services they did not provide. Had to pay $30 a day for parking.

The Hyatt was overall a great experience. The room was very attractive and clean. We had a great view of the lake and city. The staff was friendly and helpful, as well. The only problem we had was the extreme pricing of the restaurant menus. We had a $50 dining credit and the two of us exhausted that in one breakfast! All we had were omelets and juice! Needless to say we did not dine in the hotel anymore after that! Other than the restaurants the hotel was more than we could ask for!
Positives: Very nice and clean. The staff was great, as well.
Negatives: The restaurants are extremely overpriced for the quality and quantity you receive. The location is not convenient for seeing the sights of the city.
Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 25 May 2010 rated 8 out of 10.
Overall, it has a convenient location (10 minutes drive from downtown) good facility, but it sets the price much higher than what the hotel provides.
Positives: Spacious room.
Negatives: Extremely parking fee.

GREAT views being just off downtown (city and lake), if you are on the correct side of the hotel. Some rooms could use updating. Not within easy walking distance of the heart of Chicago. Good choice, but only if the price is right.
Positives: For the price obtained on Priceline, great view, safe location, good access via public transportation.
Negatives: A bit further from the action of the city than desired.
Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 19 May 2010 rated 5 out of 10.
Poor location for enjoying downtown Chicago. Bathrooms are poorly designed resulting in a nasty slip from the tub onto the marble floor. Food & drinks very expensive. The beds were comfortable. We had a nice view.
Positives: Nice view of South Chicago.
Negatives: Location.
Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 17 May 2010 rated 10 out of 10.
I was totally satisfied with my experience here. The hotel staff, location, cleanliness and every detail was excellent. I felt safe in the area it was located and found public transportation very conveniently.
Positives: The ambiance, cleanliness and hospitality made my vacation experience amazing.
Negatives: I have no complaints other than there was no hottub. Also wireless internet was available, but not free.

Very nice and comfortable rooms. Elevators were very fast, and hotel staff was extremely friendly. Far from downtown, but has a shuttle. Bathroom wasn't as large as expected. No internet is a big turn off.
Positives: Very clean and good room service.
Negatives: Bathrooms aren't large, expensive internet.

Clean, friendly and upscale - very good hotel for business.
Positives: Good Location to McCormick Place.
Negatives: Long ways to downtown and restaurants.

The hotel itself was not what I expected from the Hyatt. The rooms were very standard, no fridge, no microwave, carpet didn't seem clean. The rates for parking were out of control. They charge you extra if you want to leave for what ever reason. Not convenient at all.
Positives: It was very clean.
Negatives: Too standard, plan rooms.
Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 07 Jan 2010 rated 7 out of 10.
Friendly, helpful staff, workout center was amazing, and modern machines.
Positives: Excellent work out facility.
Negatives: Expensive parking fees, $38 for valet.
