This hotel was an easy walk from Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier, our two main reasons for visiting Chicago with our 18 month old daughter. The bellhop was especially helpful.

Positives: Great for families with young children - our daughter loved the window seats.

Negatives: Noise from the El.

My 3 girlfriends and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Silversmith Hotel recently. The next time I am needing to stay in downtown Chicago I will definitely use this hotel and I will highly recommend it to others.

Positives: The great location, friendly staff and cleanliness of the room.

Negatives: I cannot think of anything.

Positives: Cean, nice staff, and good location.

Negatives: Rossi at the front desk lobby was not very professional.

I had read that the lobby was on 2nd floor and made more sense once we arrived - lobby is clean, quaint & no frills. Very pleasant staff, friendly & accommodating. We loved our room - I did research online but was surprised to find that we received a suite - not sure if that was a comp upgrade or what all rooms had. Extremely spacious, clean, 12 ft high ceilings, nicely, simply decorated, felt very comfortable. Couch, coffee table, TV and refrig in the sitting room. Bathrooms were also spacious and clean, looked updated with a tub and separate shower stall. 2 TVs that were older with one remote with a couple buttons that did not work - small price to pay for the great deal, great big room, wonderful location. Not a lush hotel - but I felt more than satisfied!

Positives: Location very central. Rooms were large, clean and tastefully decorated. Impressive value!

Negatives: Definitely in the hustle/bustle of city with L right out the window. We liked this but some may not.

Hotel room was clean, and this was some of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in.

Positives: Location was excellent! Comfortable beds!

Negatives: Parking was expensive.

Loved the layout of the room, the decor and aura of the lobby. Its decor is something you don't see very often, but a look that is warm, friendly with a touch of vintage.

Positives: We liked the overall decor and design and layout; it's something different and its done well!

Negatives: It was a little challenging finding it under the L train.

Decor is a bit out dated, TVs are not flat screens, but overall the hotel was clean, comfortable, and accommodating.

Positives: Friendly staff, good location, and good size room.

Negatives: Had to wait past 3pm to check-in.

This hotel did not deserve the 4 star rating; more like 3 stars for it's location. Dark and noisy, and the desk staff was unpleasant. The doorman and parking attendants were exceptional!

Positives: Location was great for shopping and the theater.

Negatives: Lobby had a damp old smell. The hotel was dark and the desk staff was cool in demeanor.
