The hotel was fine for the one night. We were extremely unhappy when we asked to have a king bed instead of two doubles. They said there would be a fee. When we retired for the evening at 9 pm, the parking lot was virtually empty, and the next morning at 7:15 when we checked out there may have been a dozen cars, some of which were employees. That was a disappointment, we should have been able to get a king bed.

I think the hotel should not have been rated as a 2.5 it was more like a 1 or 2 for the very most. It needed a major cleaned every door was filthy.

Positives: There was a lot of restaurants around plus a large mall.

Much nicer than anticipated. Still would consider it on par with two stars, not two and a half. Location close to where we needed to be and plenty of restaurants within yards of hotel! Room was very clean and comfortable. Parking when we arrived back late was not close to our entrance. Staff at front desk very nice to deal with.

Negatives: Hallway smelled like cigarette smoke, fortunately rooms did not.

Although clean,the bed sagged in the middle and was very uncomfortable and gave us backaches. There is no common area. Coffee in the morning was very weak.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times while going to U of I for the football or basketball games. I can rely on this hotel as a safe place to rest my head at night. So much better than the Extended Stay.

In general this is a pretty good hotel with this price, but would like to pay more and stay in a better hotel. Close to restaurants and enjoyed the food (outside of this hotel) a lot.

In short time, we noticed that all the hotel halls smelled musty and of stale smoke. After being in the room for a short time, my daughter noticed a small cricket in the bathroom. When I went to kill it, I noticed another dead bug and a spider in the bathroom. It was disappointing.

The staff was very helpful. They serve a complementary breakfast with both hot and cold food. Free newspapers were provided. Snow was being tracked in and staff was constantly cleaning the lobby floors.

Overall, this was a great stay! We were having an all girls bachelorette party, it was nice to have a table in the room for us to use, and the breakfast was great after a night of partying! Thanks!

The toilet didn't even flush, but they were unable to move us. The room was not clean, there was visible dirt on the table. The whole place smelled like smoke. We were told that we were not near the smoking area, but all of the hallways smelled.

This hotel worked out very well for us. It was clean, plenty of parking, had breakfast ( we did n't use though). The staff was nice. The air conditioner worked well. Had everything we needed.

Positives: Location was good with easy access to shopping and places to eat.

Negatives: Our room was upstairs with no elevator. Not a problem for us , but might be for someone with a lot of luggage.

The rooms were comfortable but had the smallest full sized beds that I've ever slept on. Hard to find way around hotel but it did have a nice morning breakfast.

The price I paid is about what I would pay for the room we stayed in. All in all, the hotel was nice and conveniently located to the locations we were going to. Being just off the highway was really good. The continental breakfast was helpful on a busy day and it was good. The layout was a little weird and the stairways were kind of hard to find. I would stay there again if I needed to.

For the price this was a decent motel. It is an older facility but maintained well. In addition, the rooms were clean and had nice bedding. Breakfast selection was very disappointing and the staff was not the most friendly.

The hotel is located near a mall and is very close to the University Campus. The entry way was clean as were the common areas. My room smelled of smoke despite it being a non smoking room. It took 2 days to air it out. The room was a double and the second bed had what appeared to be cigarette ashes in it. I requested a linen change for both beds and housekeeping took care of it (I think). The bolts on the upper door lock were very loose (I could have pulled the lock right off). The front desk staff person was helpful and left a work order for maintenance to fix it. Continental breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel if you have a short stay. You just might need to be vigilant in making sure the bedding is clean.

Positives: Free continental breakfast and internet. The cable TV had good selection of channels.

Negatives: The room smelled of smoke despite it being a non-smoking room. Door lock was broken.

The La Quinta Inn Champaign is at best a 1 star motel. It is older, not particularly well maintained, with few amenities. The beds in our room were sloped. The wireless internet connection was low and frequently lost. On the evening we stayed the La Quinta had a group of about 30 roofing workers in the motel and they elected to barbecue out in the parking lot at about 9:00 pm. Both noisy and a bit raucous. Also these folks were filling their coolers with ice starting at 5:00 AM the very next morning, noisy group. It is definitely not a 2 & 1/2 star.

Positives: Not a bad location.

Negatives: Old, not well maintained, low to no wireless connectivity.

You get what you pay for. This is a very average stay at a very average hotel. Loved the location, lots of good family fun/dining nearby (as far as Champaign is concerned).
