Homely elegance. Beautifully charming and welcoming lobby, especially the authentic confessional. Very comfortable room with relaxing atmosphere. Gracious and helpful staff. Dining areas are full of charm. Many amenities including great coffee you can brew in the room and drink from real mugs.

Positives: The room on the lobby level was exceptionally quiet. Best night's sleep in days.

Negatives: Queen bed had 4 plump pillows. Could have used at least one flatter pillow.

Wonderful hotel yet short staffed. Serving time at the restaurant was extensive. Watered drinks. Desk staff was not experienced/knowledgeable, sometimes dismissive and not apologetic for gaffs. This is a world class hotel waiting for competent management.

Positives: Ambiance.

Negatives: We were locked out of our room after the first day I had to verify we were staying longer at the front desk. Annoying.

This hotel is not worth the money we paid for our stay. Everything needed replacing in our room. The sink or tub fixtures were rusty, the window was not sealed properly and we had a cold draft, not to mention wind howling through our room all night long. The blanket on the bed looked old and ratty. The cleaning people did their best with what they had to work with. My husband and I were very disappointed and will never return to this hotel again.

Positives: Beautiful exterior.

Negatives: Old and dated interior, smells bad, lights too bright.
