We look forward to returning.

Positives: Location, quiet, afternoon reception, excellent beds, friendly & helpful staff.

Negatives: Parking, but they make the best of the situation.

This is a wonderful hotel. It has great character. The staff was friendly and very helpful. At times it was a little noisy because of its location on the river. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The hotel sells earplugs and there is a CVS a few blocks away that sells them also. I stayed in one of the room and I could not have asked for a more lovely room. The king size bed was so comfortable.

Positives: Excellent location. Gorgeous room. Incredible view of the river. Friendly staff.

Negatives: A bit noisy, but that is to be expected because the back of the hotel is on River Street.

Positives: Location, room size, charm, cleanliness.

Negatives: At first the room smelled musty, but that went away with the use of the air conditioner.

Our first night at the hotel, we tried to take a hot shower before going to bed but the hot water in our room did not work. We called the front desk and asked if we could shower in a different room since there was no maintenance staff available. The night auditor gave us a key, when we got to the room, the light was on in the bathroom, towels were on the floor and the bed looked just slept in. We thought we had walked into an occupied room! When we went back to the desk to tell him that the room he sent us to was dirty, he yelled at us and said it was our fault for not asking for a clean room. I was appalled. He even used foul language toward us. As far as hotel cleanliness, the glasses in our room were half filled with water, had lipstick marks on them even though the paper cap had been replaced and the bathroom had toothpaste spray everywhere. I would not suggest this hotel.

Positives: None.

Negatives: The staff was rude and the room was dirty.

Very good location, nice rooms, restored old waterfront building, good and knowledgeable staff. Living in history, in a historical city. More expensive than some, but very enjoyable.

Positives: Location on the river, nice rooms.

Negatives: Close to public space, some late night noise.

The hotel was quite authentic for the region, and the appointments were very nice. Rooms too small to be entirely comfortable. However, bathroom was new, though tub slippery (my mother slipped while in the tub).

Positives: Decorated very nicely, very authentic.

Negatives: Address non indicative of where to find the lobby or parking for the hotel.

The staff was very helpful when we checked in. We got an upgrade on our room without asking. They went out of their way to make sure we knew where places were around downtown Savannah. Only downside, a little noisy on the floor we stayed on. Other than that, I would stay again and recommend to others.

Positives: The room was very quint and authentic. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable when we checked in. We enjoyed our stay.

Negatives: Not enough pillows on our bed, a little noisy on the 2nd floor.

The hotel was undergoing renovations this was not a problem because the workers doing the work were friendly and helpful. However the staff of the hotel was not. We booked a room with a queen sized bed and a balcony but the room we received was a double and no balcony. I was very disappointed and will not ever stay here again.

Positives: It was right on river street.

Negatives: I did not get the room I booked.

Staff was excellent, hotel location was great, hotel accommodations were great, and it was clean and comfortable. It had great history and character, wonderful place.

Positives: Historical, great character and location.

Negatives: No parking, the address is deceptive, it took a while to find it, need special instructions to enter from the rear off Bay Street.

Could be described as either quaint and rustic or old and showing its age, but the staff is very friendly and willing to do whatever is necessary to make your stay enjoyable. The folds down at the lounge are great fun and free wine and cheese is way better than a continental breakfast.

Positives: Excellent view and location, right on the river in the action.

Negatives: They try hard, but miss the mark on attention to detail.

We enjoyed our stay, parking was inconvenient - a block away in a parking garage, no valet parking like described, but overall, was a very nice stay, lovely room. We would stay here again.

Positives: Very nice room with a view of the river and balcony, robes in room, housekeeping was superb.

Negatives: Gourmet chocolates were two pieces of peanut clusters, and no wet bar or breakfast available.

The building is beautiful with attractive decor, wood floors, and so forth. The rooms were clean and linens were nice. The location was great and convenient, but parking was a little bit of a hassle, although I don't think this is too unusual for such a location. The turndown service with handmade chocolates was nice. They also had bottled water and ice. The main downside to staying here was that it didn't have a lot of conveniences I normally expect in a hotel like this. There was no gift shop, no room service, no iron in the room, no mini bar (description said mini bar but they were in the process of taking them out and they were empty). It was kind of like staying at a nice house, really. My main advice would be to take your own iron and bring your own cokes, etc. I would certainly stay there again but I would make sure to bring an iron, drinks, etc.

Positives: Beautiful building and decor, convenient location.

Negatives: Lacked "conveniences" such as gift shops, etc.

I was pleased with the hotel itself, but was sorely disappointed with the professionalism and customer service of the staff, which to me was way below par for a 'nice hotel'. Good customer service is a lot more that 'sir' and 'mama'. It means actually listening to your customer, engaging, and being proactive about specific problems.

Positives: Clean, unique rooms; beautiful converted bldg.

Negatives: Unprofessional staff.
