Saint Pete Beach is a coastal city in Pinellas County, Florida famous for its status as a tourist destination. Saint Pete Beach was formed from the Towns of Pass-a-Grille, Don CeSar, Belle Vista, Saint Petersburg Beach and unincorporated Pinellas County. At the time of its incorporation in 1957, its name was Saint Petersburg Beach. However, just about everyone referred to it as 'Saint Pete Beach' and, on March 9, 1994, locals voted to officially change the name to the shorter version to distinguish it from the City of Saint Petersburg a few miles to the east. In 2004, the US Saint Pete Beach's downtown is centered around Corey Avenue. This district contains many bars, restaurants and shopping popular with both tourists and locals. The historic Don CeSar beach resort is also located in the city. Places to eat in the region include Madfish, Patrick's Bayside Grill, Crabby Bill's Seafood, and Point Pass-A-Grille Inc.
