Doubletree Orlando is a great place to stay if Universal Studios/Island of adventure is your destination.
A 10 minute walk if the shuttle times aren't to your liking. Very clean, friendly, and deluxe hotel.

Positives: Very friendly and helpful staff, often asking if there was anything they could do to improve my stay.

Negatives: I

I booked a non-smoking room with two queen beds. I received a smoking room - where someone had been smoking cartons non stop for the past 30 days judging from the smell - with one bed. I immediately went downstairs with my receipt - showing that I had non-smoking with 2 queen beds. The management told me that even though that was what my receipt said, it wasn't what Priceline booked for me. I was told nothing else was available that night, but maybe would be the following night. We booked this hotel for its proximity to Universal Studios; we didn't want to switch motels. Nor, could I afford to pay upfront for a new hotel and hope to be reimbursed. On day two, I was summoned from the pool and told I had 5 Min's to move into a new room. I told them we were checking out the next day; we were all tired after a day at the park; we would just make do. (We had already bought 22 air fresheners and cans of Febreeze.) I was told, "Nope. We already moved you in the computer. You have to go." Not only will I not book with this hotel ever again; I don't think I'll book with any Doubletree.

Positives: Pizza was good.

Negatives: Did not honor my booking.

In comparison to the Hardrock hotel this hotel is no where near the quality or comparative to their facilities. They boast of the Starbucks and the deli, Starbucks closes at 3pm! and the deli has very sparse offerings from mid afternoon on. As a single traveller
I was looking for the spectrum of services that they advertise. The shuttle service to the theme parks is extremely limited - no flexibility at all. Will not go back.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: The shuttles to attractions too limited.

The hotel has a great location. It is within walking distance to Universal Studios, which is nice if you want to enjoy city walk at night. When we first arrived our room was not ready and it was 4:05. The room we first received smelled of mold and mildew. We went down and asked for a different room and they gave us a similar room, but did not smell.

Positives: I like the cookies.

Negatives: The $12 parking fee.

The hotel was nice and the location was great and all for a good value.

Positives: It's location across from Universal was great.

Negatives: The business center was expensive and they didn't have legal paper, the hotel staff did help me with that.

Clean, centrally located within walking distance of Universal Studios, and a friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and roomy but the amenities need to be replaced; clock, TV remote, coffee maker, ice bucket, etc. were working but are in need of immediate upgrade or replacement. Overall, the hotel provides the relaxing atmosphere after a long day at the amusement park.

Positives: Friendly and attentive staff.

Negatives: Too many paid amenities.

Generic hotel experience, no differential value. Worst yet, not responsive or attentive employees. Stale cookies at check in.

Positives: The location.

Negatives: Everything else. Including staff level of customer service.

Nice hotel, very clean, great location and no free parking. They charge $12 a day, and the only free WiFi is in the lobby.

Positives: Location is excellent and room was awesome.

Negatives: No free parking.

Doubletree Universal is good for location to everything. Room service are good. Quality of room and cleanliness are average (cannot be rated as upscale. Unreal parking fee of $12.00; that should be waived or much lower.

Positives: Location

Negatives: The extra $12 parking fee.

A clean and very comfortable room with modern fixtures, a love seat and a flat screen TV the closest you can get to Universal without staying at the Lowe's resorts. Great value if you need something quiet and right next to Universal.

Positives: Very nice room.

Negatives: 12 dollar parking.

Was a little disappointed in this hotel. The first night there were dead bugs in our bed. Also they charged us $12 a day to park there. That would be like a grocery store charging there customers to park while they bought their groceries. Wonderful area. Close access to city walk and theme parks.

Positives: Lobby and pool area were very nice, and the staff was helpful when I was trying to pre-check in bags at airport.

Negatives: Dead bugs in our bed. Had to pay for parking per day which was ridiculous.

Doubletree does it again. Perfectly acceptable hotel in an ideal location close to major attractions and highways. Clean, comfortable and courteous. Plus they give you a warm chocolate cookie when you arrive!

Positives: Perfect location across the street from Universal Studios and a few traffic lights away from I-4. Clean, convenient, and classy.

Negatives: $5.00 a day for Wi-Fi. Common people.

The Doubletree Hotel at Universal Entrance in Orlando is centrally located to all of the "International Boulevard" attractions. They provide transportation service to at least Universal Studios and SeaWorld. Breakfast was excellent but expensive ($18 for the buffet). Management, front desk and valet staff were excellent.

Positives: Service from management.

Negatives: Beds weren't comfortable; halls not regularly cleaned.

The registration clerk was efficient. The work-out area was clean. The room was clean and very nice. The lobby was spacious and inviting.

Positives: The location was great for Universal Studio and all Orlando attractions.

Negatives: Everything was great!

We had a great stay there. The staff was friendly, the rooms were comfy and clean. The little extras helped, like having an onsite concierge from Universal, a gift shop which was inexpensive, a Starbucks, a Pizza Hut, and ATMs. Don't forget those wonderful COOKIES!

Positives: We loved the pillows, blankets and towels the most.

Negatives: We got a poor view.

Good location but the guest rooms were in need of renovation. Furniture was old and worn, the TV had a poor picture, etc.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Guest rooms looked worn.

This hotel was near all the attractions and easy to find. The decorations were simple and elegant. They had a warm chocolate chip cookie ready for each of us at check in and a Starbucks in the lobby. The only thing I did not like was my room was paid for but they put a hundred dollar hold on my debit card for charges I may have during my stay and I did not get the money back for two days.
Positives: Perfect everything! Especially the Starbucks in the lobby.

Negatives: The price of parking and the hundred dollar hold on my debit card for charges I may not have.

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff but having to pay to park was not very good and that was not mentioned when purchasing the room.

Positives: Very nice and great location.

Negatives: Having to pay $12 to park.

I really like the staff and the hotel. I couldn't find parking because it was real busy with the womens conference. I got a warm cooking checking in and it was good. The room was nice but the bed was small maybe a full size the view was of the ugly room and the shower was weird. It was very low maybe for someone in a wheel chair. Just didn't expect that overall what I paid for I think I got a great deal with price line. The staff was very nice.
Positives: Location to Universal.

Negatives: The shower was very low I had to squat.

Positives: The staff was extremely courteous.

Negatives: Paying for parking. Paying for television.

Nice property, easy to find and provided services that it promised. The only downside was the mandatory parking fee.

Positives: Location was good for our travel plans.

Negatives: Parking fee.
