If this hotel had different management this hotel would be a great stay for travelers. But after having another couple entered my room because the front desk thought my room was vacant bothers me and the "accidental" double deposit fee they charged me made me a little up set. After calling the hotel back to straighten it out, the manager had a hard time pulling up my file and instead pulled up 2 other guest information.

Positives: I

Negatives: The staff and employees kept making errors while we were there.

Basic hotel. It was old, and didn't have any elevators. They wanted us to go to the basement of the hotel across the street to get ice for our room. The bathroom smelled like mold. Loud music late into the night from the bar even though we were on the top floor. Location wasn't bad though.

Positives: Close to south beach.

Negatives: They wanted us to go to the basement of the hotel across the street to get ice.

I called ahead to see if they had a crib for my 2 year so I would not have to bring one on the plane. After being put on hold then hung up the first time I finally reached someone who assured me they had a crib so I did not bring one with me. Upon arriving at the loud dark smelly hotel. I was informed they do not have any cribs onsite after arguing with the guy for about a half hour after a long travel day he finally agreed to track one down. The hotel room was extremely small and after being told we were being put in a queen room we opened up our room to find to double beds. They charge a resort fee of $15 a day which includes wifi which is only in the lobby (come in this day and age wifi should be free and in the rooms.) Drinks that they only serve during dinner hour when you are out eating food and were the cheapest alcohol I have every tasted. The hotel staff is rude and unhelpful(and not very bright) I say stay away from this hotel if you have any class.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Dark, no elevator, smelly, noisy, small, loud and unhelpful employees.

The location was wonderful. However, the staff could have been friendlier. Due to our flight schedule, we arrived at 12pm. Checkin started at 3pm. The hotel charged us $3 per luggage to stow them for just 3 hours.

Positives: I enjoyed the location.

Negatives: A repairman opened my room's closed door without knocking and walked in on me while I was changing. He apologized. But, I felt disrespected.

This was the worst stay in any hotel ever. The room are so dark, that you should bring your own flash light. The worst part of the stay was, that the staff let some young folks party all night till 6 am in the morning, running through the hallways, slamming doors, and just being extremely inconsiderate of other guest. The staff did not respond to phone calls to the lobby during the night - and the manager is not reachable - even over the past 4 days after the stay. If you are somewhat mature - stay away!

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: The hotel is like only good for teens and very young, immature folks who want to party all night.

The staff was wonderful. However, they put too much of Halloween decorations which made the hotel look spooky and gloomy.

Positives: The staff was patient and friendly.

Negatives: The carpet in the lobby and on the stairs; the Halloween decorations were too spooky and distasteful.

Negatives: No restaurant.

Good for parters which do not mind anything else.

Positives: Free drinks from 7 to 8 PM; nice terrace view to street.

Negatives: Stole a handbag from a friend on the terrace; do not destroy deposit voucher at check out; cockroaches.

Due to the fact that this hotel had music blasting in the lobby and college kids hanging out in the hallways in front of their rooms, I would not recommend this hotel for families or business travelers.

Positives: Room renovated.

Negatives: Cigarette smoke could be smelled throughout the hotel.

The hotel bought brand new cushions for the lobby and kept the lobby very clean which is where coffee, OJ, milk, and water is free in the morning and free alcoholic drinks during certain evening hours as a welcome to the residents and friends are served. The decor is modern inside and art deco outside and the color used in the bedrooms is calming. There is a small fridge and working safe and robes provided in the room. Plenty of nice towels and clean bedding with plenty of comfy pillows on beds. Working air conditioning and TV made it a relaxing and comfortable experience. Most of all, the employees from Bar-Tender to valet door greeter to front-desk employee to cleaning staff, were extremely calm, clean, helpful, friendly and upbeat. We had a very nice time while there and would stay there again. The location is perfect: close enough to walk 5 minutes to the beach without being right on the crazy and loud strip along the beach.

Positives: Employees polite, welcoming, and helpful giving information and bedding very comfortable and clean. Working electronics and safe. Free drinks.

Negatives: One worn-out mattress out of two, No towel bars or hooks in bathroom, Lobby restroom should be cleaned more often.

The hotel looked nice, but as soon as the sun went down there were cock roaches crawling the walls and we had to leave the lights on to sleep (which we didn't sleep a wink). The hostess in the morning was rude and informed me of a $10 resort fee that had to be paid which had never been mentioned during check in, I was very disappointed with this hotel!

Positives: Modern decor, and it is near the beach.

Negatives: Cockroaches, loud music, and rude staff.

The location of the hotel is pretty good. But the service provided is not good.

Positives: The location is good.

Negatives: No breakfast or other facilities.

The hotel was very contemporary, has a great location. The lounge/bar was a great place to meet new people to hang out with & complimentary drinks for an hour. I felt it met my needs. Its not Ritz or Hilton, but hey, those weren't my needs. Most people hated the fees, so be sure to factor that in. And don't always count on the complimentary van to/from the airport, so plan ahead just in case it’s not running. I will go back to the Shelley. If you have problems, tell the staff, they will help accommodate you the best they can.

Positives: Happy hour allowed me to meet new people to hang out with since I was solo this trip.

Negatives: Complimentary van to/from airport didn't always operate, had to pay for shuttle ($25) & cab ($33).

This is one of the refurbished, art deco hotels on Collins Ave. For a one or two night stay, it was just what we wanted! Has a nice honor snack & beverage bar in the room and nice toiletries in the bathroom. It appeared clean, bed and pillows were tolerable. Room was small, but that's how the old hotels were. Bathroom in the room. Hallways were so dark, it was very scary. Staff was very friendly. Has a few seats outside with a patio feeling - the bar is just behind the patio. great place to people watch. Meter parking was fine for overnight only yards from the hotel.

Positives: Was on Collins ave. 1 blk from Ocean Drive.

Negatives: No elevator, but we knew this. hallways are much too dark!

My overall experience here was not too bad. But the service was not much just a hello and there your room. there is no parking near the hotel so plan on walking a couple blocks and dont bother with the valet because it takes them AT Least 30 min to bring your car, and that when there not even busy! The room was really cramped but not bad for two people. The best part was the bed, it was Huge and comfortable. Location is in the heart of south beach just a 2 min walk to the beach.

Positives: The free happy hour at the bar.

Negatives: Rooms were too cramped and cheaply renovated.

To get to hotel you have to walk thru restaurant. Hotel was going to charge me 35 dollars for parking. Valet parked for 25 dollars. Both at same location.

Positives: Rooms were large.

Negatives: No shower curtains in bath. Floor wet.

This is a boutique hotel and caters to hip couples and not really made for families or Business travelers. Very Art Deco, lots of stuff in the room bar, comfortable bed, flat screen TV. Very nice! You are in the middle of South Beach and it doesn't get better than that. Highly recommend for singles, or couples looking for fun, or romance and the hip south beach feeling.

Positives: Great location, clean rooms, very art deco hotel

Negatives: Can't think of anything.

This hotel should be removed from your offerings. This is not what they told me when I called them checking on this earlier. It's very noisy all nightlong making it hard to sleep. The rooms also have a strong perfumed smell that caused my wife to get a headache.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Noisy hotel, room smelled so bad my wife got a headache so they move us to another room that was as bad.

I've stayed at this hotel before with very few problems in the past. The staff is nice, but they are not helpful at all. There are no trashcans to throw away your garbage which explains the presence of roaches. Also, the bar in the hotel is managed by an outside owner with the south beach group who trains his bartenders to rip people off. I was headed out of the hotel with my girl friends, but was stopped by the male bartender who asked let's do shots. Anywhere else in the world, this would mean that the bartender was offering us shots. We went to the bar, took a shot that he suggested and then got stuck with a bill that totaled over $50 (for five shots!). He even made us pay for his shot. I told this story to someone in the airport who stayed across the street at chesterfield, also part of the south beach group company. He said that the female bartender did the same thing to him only she stuck him with a $100 tab for two shots. Avoid the bars in the hotel at all costs. They will overcharge you or scam you into buying shots when they lead you to believe they are on the house.

Positives: Good location, close to everything.

Negatives: Absolutely the worst management ever.
