Very disappointing. The staff was very business like and not accommodating. They told us that the registration had not crossed over and to come back in an hour. Also, we were charged a $15 mandatory fee for the pool, the wifi and the fridge, as well as $20 for parking. There was no parking at the hotel, it was a valet, and we had no other choice, that added $35 to our budget.

Positives: The pool was very nice.

Negatives: They charged us a mandatory $15 fee for the fridge, the Internet and the pool, and $20 for parking.

This place is not good. None of the staff speak English, nor are they friendly. All the rooms and pool area are in very bad need of repair and renovation. Park is a real pain, and valet (which is almost the only option) is expensive and very slow. I would not recommended staying here.

Positives: Good food.

Negatives: Dirty, needs repair/renovations, staff doesn't speak English, and bad parking.

It was foul, loud thugs roaming the halls until dawn, smell of marijuana in the halls, Internet didn't work for 24 hours.

Positives: Nothing

Negatives: Everything

We got a deal for $100 a night, which was a proper value of the crap hotel. They intentionally failed to tell me about the $15 a day free, which was crap since most of things didn't work, or were always unavailable. I would have hesitated if I had known. The room was shitty, (4th floor is ghetto and has poor view versus every other floor!)

Positives: The lobby was decent.

Negatives: They ripped me off with a $45 dollar fee for resort services (Wi-Fi etc) which none worked. The safe was broken, the room was crap, etc.

Very disappointing. The room was shabby and run down. The bathroom had not been finished being cleaned. Our request for it to be cleaned and for fresh towels to be delivered was ignored. The hotel has a long way to go to reach acceptable levels of comfort. There is a $15 daily resort charge that might be worth the expense except for overnight guests who cannot make use of all the facilities.

Positives: Foyer and amenities were good.

Negatives: Room was dirty and needed to be refurbished as did hallways.

Looked nicer than what i expected. Room was nice, but the lighting was really low and the water pressure for taking a shower was terrible.

Positives: Pool and Pool Bar nice to have. Beach is super close. Body mirror was awesome.

Negatives: Expensive breakfast. Water pressure in shower terrible. Lighting was terrible.

This hotel needs a lot of renovation. It was probably a great hotel in the sixties, but that was the last time they did anything in the hotel. Overpriced for what it is.

Positives: Seemed to have been a great hotel at some time in it's past.

Negatives: Rooms were worn out.

The lobby and bars are the best areas.

Positives: The lobby.

Negatives: The rooms.

They do not have parking, so you have to pay 20 dollars per day, so the valet parking takes your car somewhere else. And if the parking that they have (somewhere else) is full, you have to look for a space in the streets.

Positives: The lobby.

Negatives: The room. It was so dark.

I would not recommend this property. Spend 20% more and stay at a property that is a 100% better.

Positives: Pool area.

Negatives: Dirty, dated, and unfriendly staff. Restaurants were horrible.

At 1st glance the hotel looks beautiful, but that's because of the lobby. The room we were originally put in had a leaky ceiling in the bathroom, had to get in somewhat of an argument with the manager & 3 hours later, we were finally moved to another room. In our new room, the phone did not work. Every time you cut the water on / off you could hear the pipes rattling inside the walls. Hotel staff would not let you walk from the pool area thru the hotel unless you put your shoes on; they do not have a separate entry at the pool to get back into your room, but they do not have a problem expecting you to use your toilet while water drips on your head from ceiling above. If it was not for the lobby, pool, & the convenience to the beach, this hotel would need to be tore down & rebuilt!

Positives: Lobby was beautiful, pool was excellent size, convenient to the beach & nice location.

Negatives: Rooms need to be updated, $10/day resort fee, very unfriendly & slow staff.

Good hotel. Good location, good beach, but hotel need a renovation in some areas. Cheap valet parking (20 usd day).

Positives: Location, beach, room.

Negatives: Check in.

The location is wonderful, right on the beach. Pool and outdoor hot tub were very nice. The lobby was large and filled with dozens of orchid plants in bloom. Our room did not seem to be up to the same standards as the public areas of the hotel.

Positives: Great location. Beautiful lobby and public spaces.

Negatives: Bathroom was old and vanity was falling apart.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 18 Mar 2009 rated 1 out of 10.

The room was disgusting. There were stains on the floor, the bathroom had an odor and there were no wash clothes to used except for the first day we arrived. For such a terrible hotel, parking should not have been $20/day; it was better to walk a few blocks for cheaper public parking. Also, the front desk staff had a tendency to have an attitude and the house-keeping couldn't even understand what you were saying to them in English. There was no microwave, yet there was a fridge.

Positives: It was a place to sleep at night.

Negatives: Their were stains on the floor, an odd smell in the restroom, and no washclothes available except for the first day there.

It is not a hotel that I would recommend to anyone!

Positives: Location.

Negatives: It took us 55 minutes just to check out of the hotel because of the lines and the very poor management!

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It smelt like mold, alarm, light switch by the bed and refrigerator didn't work. Called front desk they never sent anyone. No business center to print anything. Not happy at all with this hotel.

Positives: Close to the beach.

Negatives: Needs up graded very badly, no business center, charged to used phone.

The Deauville was clearly a monument of beauty -- fifty years ago. There have been some remodels but not in the hall where we stayed. The walls are very thin and unattended children and teens everywhere. There was not enough hot water for two consecutive showers. The elevators took quite a long time to arrive. The breakfast buffet was $23 per person!

Positives: I liked the proximity to the beach, the views, and the music in the tiki bar.

Negatives: The room was horrible -- no hot water, TV wasn't hooked up, dirty smeared windows.

This is in a great location in the Historic District of Miami Beach, just south of North Beach. It's close to a bus stop and walking distance to many restaurants and a Walgreen's. The lobby, pool and other public spaces have a retro sumptuousness that is very pleasing, but then the simple, drab rooms (clean, fine) seem like a letdown. Overall a very nice experience.

Positives: The lobby, pool, view and concierge.

Negatives: The rooms were lackluster but acceptable.

Overall, it was an ok. Hotel to stay there for just two nights and we were thus almost positively surprised. However, I would not recommend it for a longer holiday. Except for the amazingly huge and stunning entrance hall everything looked a bit run down. The first room we were given needed renovation and moreover it smelled. The shower was open (no bathtub or anything), which meant by taking a shower we flooded the complete bathroom and even part of the guest room. The carpet right in front of the bathroom was already soaking wet on our arrival, probably from the last guests before us who had taken a shower there. The keycards did not work properly, not only for our room but also for the other rooms on our floor. Once we tried for about 15 minutes to get into our room. When we finally succeeded and the door seemed to open, we pushed it towards the inside of the room so that it would open, but the wood of the door broke and the door was also not in its hinges any more. We could not close it any more after that. So we were given a new room on another floor. Here the key cards also did not work at first, but one of the receptionists came up and explained us how to work them properly and after that we mostly were able to enter after 1-3 attempts. The second room was nicer than the first and seemed newly renovated. Here we also had a bathroom with bathtub, so no further flooding. Breakfast at the Deauville was good.

Positives: Helpful staff at reception.

Negatives: First room had shower that over flooded the bathroom and guest room, key cards did not work properly.

Check in and out took a long time due to the volume of guests but I suppose that is to be expected. At first, we were given the wrong keys so that meant going back down and waiting again to get the issue resolved. The housekeeping and repair staff were all using guest elevators so it took forever to get to our room and their bulky equipment made us miss our floors cause we could not get past them. I am not sure where they kept the valet cars, but when we got ours back it was dirty with mud and feathers all over it. On the positive side, the rooms were really nice and clean, we had a good view from the room even though it was not an oceanview room. We were given the bed arrangement we asked for. The room had a small fridge and iron and fan which all came handy. The tiki bar and lobby bar staff were very nice and gave us plenty of tips on how to spend our Miami beach vacation. The pool area was also very large with plenty of lounge chairs. Overall, I would recommend this hotel despite some of its negative points just make sure not to use valet if possible and come and leave early to avoid the registration lines.

Positives: Rooms were clean and attractive.

Negatives: The housekeeping and repair staff were using guest elevators.

Does not stay here pay a little more with something you will enjoy?

Positives: None.

Negatives: Everything I thought the hotel rented rooms by the hour not what I thought I purchased. It made my new wife cry.
