The Pools and lobby were great, the room was nothing special, it had a bad odor and was no more than a standard hotel room. The pricing on food was high, for what you got. Staff was fine, helpful.
Positives: Lobby and location were great. Shuttle transportation was good.
Negatives: Room was nothing special and had a bad odor.

The Swan & Dolphin are beautiful hotels with great facilities for families and leisure travelers. The rooms were clean and well furnished however our rooms (we stayed 2 different times) were both behind the detached restaurant and so were quite loud. One of the rooms had had the windows sealed shut because of the loud fans outside the restaurant. In addition the children loved "character" dining with Disney Characters but you only get second string characters at these hotels because they are not owned by Disney. Still a great place to stay as long as you understand it's not perfect.
Positives: The Swan was immaculate and in a beautiful location for families and leisure.
Negatives: The room provided was behind the restaurant and our windows had been sealed shut due to (presumably) excessive noise.

This was our second trip to the Swan hotel. Our kids love it and we think it is better quality than some of the other Disney resorts. We also love the outdoor amenities. Some of my best memories of our trip will be swinging on the hammocks with my kids!
Positives: Clean, comfortable, great amenities and great proximity to Epcot and MGM.
Negatives: Although it is considered a "Disney resort", we were not able to take advantage of the hotel's/park's food plan.

The hotel was nice the food was good. The main pool was a little to far away with small children.
Positives: The restaurants on site& close to the boardwalk.
Negatives: The nice pool was a long walk with children.

The maid knocked on our door too early in the morning and seemed anxious to have us out. Had to put do not disturb sign on door. Room service prices were too high. The staff at the front door was too pushy. Self parking was quite a distance from the entrance yet still $9 a day. Horn for the Disney ferry kept honking down below. Had a necklace disappear from the bathroom.
Positives: It was beautiful in appearance.
Negatives: Everything was too spread out.

Check in was a disaster. We were told that check in was 3 pm. We show up and they say that our room is not ready and that they would call us when it was ready. We waited in the lobby for an hour without them letting us know anything. We asked them again if our room was ready and they indicated that it was not. A few minutes later they told us that there was a computer glitch and that they could check us in. On check out day, they left us a message that we must be checked out by 11 am in order to accommodate the next guests. I realize that this is just a procedural thing and that this department had no idea that we were inconvenienced at check in, but, it just didn't sit well with us that it was OK for them to check us in late, but, they needed the room by 11 on check out morning. The rooms are not the cleanest. The area behind the desk was packed full of dust. There was a smell of stale air when we first came into the room. The air conditioning only works while you are in the room. So, when you return from a hot day at Disney, you come back to a very hot room. I find this remarkable because you can stay at a $59 per night hotel and come back to a cool room. The housekeeping staff seemed to be VERY concerned about getting you out of the room so they could clean it. We felt like this was not appropriate for a luxury accommodation
Positives: The pool was great.
Negatives: Check in was not smooth. Kept us waiting for an hour in the lobby.

I was very disappointed in this hotel for the type of hotel is was "supposed" to be. It was under renovation. Also, two of the trash cans in our room had trash in them - one of them a dirty diaper! We called the front desk to have it taken care of and I had to take it to them. Finally, after over an hour, someone from housekeeping came to the room.
Positives: The bed was very comfortable.
Negatives: The room was not clean and the staff was very inattentive.
