Simple but ok. The appliances (fridge, microwave, etc) help a lot.

Positives: Big rooms, big bathrooms, king size bed.

Negatives: Dirty carpet, swimming pool out of service, slow wifi connection, small numbers of plugs on the wall.

This was a great hotel for the price. They seemed to be working on remodeling some of the hotel because there were definitely areas that were much nicer than others (i.e. hotel lobby vs. hallways/rooms). The room we were in had 2 beds, and was a bit small, but for the price it was what I was expecting. The hotel staff was very friendly during check-in, and also signed us up for the shuttle to the Port of Miami for the following day (they fill up fast so book early!!). The only negative about this hotel was their airport shuttle. It's supposed to come every hour, but we waited for over 1.5 hours for the shuttle and it never came even though we called multiple times and were told "The shuttle will be there soon" or "The shuttle should be there in 10 minutes" or "They just left the hotel, so they should be there soon". We ended up having to take a taxi, which cost us about $35, which I wasn't very happy about, but we had no other option since the shuttle never came.

Positives: The shuttle to the Port of Miami - Free!

Negatives: The non-exsistent airport shuttle.

Seemed nice enough at the front desk, but was not in a nice neighborhood. You couldn't walk anywhere without fear of bodily harm. The rooms were only ok--clean enough but on the edge of needing a face lift. Carpet was starting to look worn, the tile needed replacing but at least the toilet, sink and shower were clean. The walls and ceiling were cracked and needed a fresh coat of paint. We were glad when our stay was over and we left without incident!

Positives: They picked us up from the airport-that was a bonus.

Negatives: We saw a rat in the corridor. Hotel in need of serious remodeling. Cracks in ceiling, etc.

Overall, I thought the Hialeah Ramada was a good deal for the money, but it was definitely rough around the edges. First, let me mention the hotel's good qualities: The price was very reasonable, it was located near several major roads, the immediate area was safe, there was plenty of excess parking, and there were many restaurants and businesses close by. However, there were also several problems. The front desk was chronically undermanned, and almost every time I walked by, there was a big line of people. The front desk, lounge, bar and restaurant are all located in the same area on the first floor, and between all the customers walking in and out, all the talking in the lounge and all the Latin music from the bar, the whole first floor was very chaotic and noisy. It bled into the area where the rooms were, and I definitely would not recommend staying on the first floor (I was on the fourth). The hallways on all of the floors also looked dirty and beat-up: The ceilings were covered in ugly pipes, the floors were very dirty with caked in black residue, and the hallway lighting was too dim. My room was clean and adequate overall, but the cleaning staff kept leaving inconsistent amounts of soap and shampoo, (sometimes two bars, sometimes one bar, sometimes none) each day and once even left a bleach spray bottle on my vanity. My two key cards also became demagnetized almost every day, and I kept having to run down to the front desk to get them fixed, which was a pain since I usually had to wait in the line. The hotel also had only one, slow communal computer in the first floor lounge, and I kept having to fight with twins to use it, (adding more computers would be wise). In spite of the problems, the bottom line for me is low price and a room that is quiet and comfortable enough for me to sleep well, and the Hialeah Ramada delivered on both counts. I would stay here again, but I can see how more sensitive consumers would be disgusted by the place.

Positives: Low price, adequate rooms.

Negatives: Rough around the edges and chaotic first floor.

Disorganized. Back building felt unsafe and rooms had stained carpets, patched roofing, plaster in tub and stale chewing gum stuck on bedside table. Back building contains a large quantity of live in renters and should be dedicated to that purpose.

Positives: Airport shuttle.

Negatives: Discontinued shopping shuttle, uncleanliness, didn't feel safe in back building.

I was surprised at how bad condition the hotel was in. The staff behaved like they did not care. There were two buildings in the hotel and the elevator in the building we were in, did not work for the first two days. When I asked to change the rooms at the front desk, the staff member mentioned someone from the maintenance was working on it. I went back to the building only to find the maintenance person not doing anything. When I asked him, he mentioned there was nothing he could do and he already told the management the same. Public areas including the carpets, stairs area was very dirty with trash all over the place. Our room had full size glass windows and one of them had paint marks all over it. The hotel corridor was loud and lot of people were seen talking and making noise even late every night which made sleeping very difficult. I was not sure if there were guests staying at the hotel or outside. It was a bit scary to walk around the corridor after dark and we ended staying in the room locked in the room for the most part. The staff did not care and even rude at times. We were given two security cards for the room and we had to go get them revalidated everyday. When I asked them the staff person yelled at me and told me the magnetic tape on them is very sensitive and does not work if I keep it next to any electronic device. I could clearly understand they were mocking in some other language when I went to complain. We stayed out for the most part during the day and remained in the room looked at nights since we did not feel safe in the hotel. I felt trapped since I paid the money for the whole time in advance.

Positives: None.

Negatives: This hotel was dirty, loud and we did not enjoy a single minute of our stay.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone short of desperate travelers. I requested a quiet room - I was given a room adjacent to a crying baby. Hotel signage was poor since I could not determine where my room was located (room 255+ are in Bldg 2). There was no security at the front desk of building 2 - no hotel key needed for entry; anyone could drive onto the property and enter the building. I truly feared for my safety. The stairwell (which I took since I was on the 2nd floor) was filthy and reeked of cigarette smoke. The hallway was dimly lit and the carpets were filthy. The TV had poor reception and occasionally displayed nothing but fuzz. Check-out was hectic as there were only 2 employees for nearly 7 guests; I couldn't wait so I left my keys at the front desk and left. Later, I was twice disconnected from their customer service extension to confirm that I was checked out. Ramada International was equally unable to get through the following night. What a horrible experience.

Positives: Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

Negatives: No hotel security for second building. Smoky smelly hall and stairwell. Poor signage on property. TV worked indeterminately.

The hotel was convenient for us. Offered shuttle to Port of Miami and airports. Beds were very comfortable and staff at front desk was great. Likely to pick it again. Inadequate staffing in restaurant. Gentleman working there did well with not much support.

Positives: Complementary shuttles.

Negatives: Internet connection very slow. Could use two not one.

It was nice to stay at for a short period of time but would not recommend it for longer than 48 hours.

Positives: Friendly staff.

Negatives: Iron and phone did not work, wrong kind of room.

The hotel had a banner saying a new facility was coming, but they should have closed the old one! The carpets in the elevators were filthy and threadbare. The hallways had a musty, moldy odor. The personnel were indifferent. They responded to questions, but offered no smile or comment. The room seemed dirty, and we slept in socks to avoid touching the floor. Their main attraction, the airport shuttle, was already fully booked for the early morning run, so we had to use a taxi.

Positives: The location.

Negatives: It was dirty and smelled musty.

The key locks were removed from the side entrances, so anyone at any time of the night can come in. The halls smelled very old and very strong smell of mildew. Front desk employees could not give directions.

Positives: Parking all around building. Where I can see my vehicle from my room.

Negatives: Very unsecured. Outside doors on the sides of the building locks removed.
