Loved the nice people and the lobby.

Positives: Very nice people.

Negatives: The air conditioner did not work well.

The room was so hot, and the air thermostat was set the coldest it would go. The second night,
I was sweating in the room. I called the front desk and they said they were in heat mode. They recommended I shut the system to off, crack open the window to let the cool air in. They did also provide a good quality fan for the room. However, I was surprised at this method to cool the room down for a 3.5 star hotel.

The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The TV was very limited on the channels it would get in. Not sure why. The staff were very friendly.

Not a big hotel. Even the lobby was tiny. Very boutique style. Just have been to other hotels with better experience.

Positives: Located close to Dupont Circle.

Negatives: There was no air conditioner. It was so hot in the room.

Good location, not 'modern' but clean rooms. Comfortable bed and good service. Good room size as well but if you prefer a 'modern' building and an updated room............this is not the place for you.

Positives: Location

Negatives: It is an 'older' hotel and the furnishings reflect this.

Pleasant, rooms not particularly big. Spotlessly clean, new comfortable bedding and linens.

Positives: Staff friendliness and service, cleanliness.

Negatives: Valet parking cost was exhorbitant.

Positives: The staff was great.

Negatives: The food at the restaurant was average.

I attended a convention at the Marriott Wardman Park, which was 0.7 miles down the road. The Churchill was an excellent choice because the walk to and from my event was pleasant, crossing a bridge with a nice view. The staff was friendly, the rooms clean and bright. DEFINITELY worth the Priceline price that I paid.

Positives: Comfy bed, clean bathroom.

Negatives: No desk for computer use.

Great place to stay - 3 blocks from DuPont Circle. For a hotel built in 1906, the rooms and common spaces are very well maintained. Many modern conveniences hidden and that maintains the historic look.

Positives: Staff were super helpful and accommodating.

Negatives: It is at the top of a big hill.

This hotel is great for all travelers. Though there is no pool, we still had a wonderful time even with small children. For only $20 more per night we upgraded to a Junior Suite. The hotel is clean and a great historic hotel. The rooms were extremely clean and the mini fridge was great. Elevators were fast and room service was delicious.

Positives: The helpfulness of the staff was great and the cleaning service was amazing. Great hotel in a safe neighborhood 4 blocks from Metro.

Negatives: A couple of the staff members did not know their way around DC. Ask the bellmen for directions and information.

I visited the Churchill recently with my children. This hotel is not family friendly. It was really overpriced. They are trying to fool people into thinking it is upscale because it is historic. The rooms are small and when I asked for a room with two double beds they said it would be an extra twenty dollars a night for that. Also, they only have basic cable which did not cut it after walking DC for eight hours with the kids. The good part was having a refrigerator in the room and the hotel was close to a convenience store where we could buy some basics. Dupont Circle is a fun and safe place to stay, so the location is great. I would just opt for a different hotel. I have stayed at the Hilton across the street with a much better experience. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

Positives: Close to metro.

Negatives: No amenities, staff was

It was quite comfortable but a long four blocks away from the Metro, and uphill at that.

Positives: The room was quiet.

Negatives: The elevator was very slow.

This hotel was okay. It wasn't business traveler friendly. The quality of the recent renovation could have been better (many
coats of this paint.)

Positives: I liked the historical aspects and some of the architecture.

Negatives: No desk for computer use. Need better lighting. Not enough vanity surface.

This hotel is on Dupont circle and convenient to the Metro. This allowed my family to easily move about the city while being able to walk to very good restaurants. Very clean and well appointed. The staff was very courteous and really knew about Washington D.C. Our experience was well worth.

Positives: This is a beautiful hotel that has had a well done restoration. Our room was well appointed and nicer than the Marriott next door.

Negatives: It is an older hotel with small elevators and limited work out facilities.

Very comfortable and spacious; would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Positives: Comfortable beds, convenient to dining, and close to Metro.

Negatives: Noise from hallways easily penetrates walls of room.

The bathroom is extremely small, the shower head was dangling out of the wall. You could not adjust the water pressure because I thought we would break. Water pressure was horrible. It was a very warm day outside, the Thermostat did not seem to work. It had three options - warm, moderate, cold. We set it to cold and the room was warm all night. I tried to iron my shirt and could not find any open plug points. Had to move a side table to access the lamp's plug point. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Thermostat, bathroom, plug-points.

Great hotel, loved the visit. TV was nice, bed was comfy and large, staff was friendly and very helpful when needed. had a great time and would definitely stay there again.

Positives: Nice rooms and great location.

Negatives: Small elevators, felt like was judged at check in, no free breakfast.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Churchill Hotel. The rooms have all been recently renovated, are spacious, well appointed, and generally comfortable. For a business traveler, I would not recommend the Premiere King Room. The Junior Suite (previous stay) was more than ample with a small but private study where I could work while my wife relaxed. The location is extremely convenient to central Washington, embassy row, and the Rock Creek area.

Positives: The bed was wonderfullly comfortable.

Negatives: Control of room temperature was not operational.

The staff was genuinely nice and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. I believe the dessert delivered from room service caused us food poisoning and I believe the valet broke our steering wheel. But this is my opinion and can not be proved.

Positives: Historic grand hotel. Very good location.

Negatives: Food poisoning, we believe we got from room service dessert.

This hotel is very old but has character galore. The bathroom was dated but the huge and very comfortable room made you forget about any shortcomings. Luckily, we did not have a car as the expensive parking ($30 per night) would have put a damper on our stay. We loved it and will return!

Positives: Large room. Great bed. Surprisingly quiet. Great ambiance.

Negatives: Expensive parking!
