My first room smelled like something had died under the bed. I asked to be changed to a different room...prefferably something that didnt smell like dirty feet and desperation! The room they changed me to smelled exactly the same! When I called down to the front desk to complain again, the man actually said to me yes, all of our rooms smell like that. Just stay in there a while...and you will get used to the smell.h Wow! The funny thing is that he was right. I did get used to it. But my luggage and all my clothes smelled like that room for a week. Thank you DoubleTree!
Positives: Great location.
Negatives: Smelly rooms, dirty carpets, tiny bathrooms.

Love the fresh baked cookies. This is the second Doubletree that I have stayed at and they have gone above and beyond once again.
Positives: The staff went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed.
Negatives: The hotel is not convenient to the major attractions and the National Mall area.

Overall, good hotel except bathrooms poorly designed. Have to stradle the toilet in order to close the bathroom door - ridiculously small and stupid layout.
Positives: Room was nice but not 3.5 star as listed on Priceline.com
Negatives: Bathroom was ridiculously small and impractible.

We enjoyed the hotel. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and responsive.
Positives: Friendliness of staff was wonderful.
Negatives: Pay 32$ for parking.

Clean, trendy, comfortable hotel. Bathrooms were a bit small but I'd rather have a small clean bathroom than a lage bathroom that was not so clean. Warm cookies when we checked in was a warm welcome.
Positives: Location, clenliness, cookies.
Negatives: Small bathroom

The value of this hotel was greatly diminished when I had to pay $33 to park overnight.
Positives: Quick check in and out, good location.
Negatives: Noticed trash left in hall at night was not picked up when I left in the morning.

Reception areas are small, corridors are small, staffing is minimal. Cleaning crew needs to be upgraded. Elevator needs upgrade. With the restaurant reminds me of some B&B's. Having said that, the staff were pleasant, but you had to be in a junior suite and better to even get the feel of a 3 star.
Positives: The hotel staff did their best to assist the disappointed guest.
Negatives: The room offered on the Priceline deal was atrocious. There was no parking. Valet services were expensive. Restaurant did not have a wide variety.

Good location but not many restaurants were close by and too far from the metro.
Positives: Front desk was friendly and helpful.
Negatives: The room was quite small.

Negatives: Service/ staff.

The hotel was very nice. The room was a good size and comfortable, although the bathroom was very small. The only downside was that ventilation system had a musty, moldy smell coming from it, unless the fan was on high. We like white noise while sleeping, so it wasn't a big problem, but it could be for others.
Positives: Good location - safe and quiet.
Negatives: Musty smell from heating system.

As a regular Doubletree customer, I was surprised to have some negative experiences at the hotel in Washington, DC - open water bottles that had been sipped from in room, failure to deliver the wake-up call as promised, awful food in the restaurant (it was like someone put sugar in my $12 quiche instead of salt!), misinformation regarding parking regulation/fees. Disappointing. I expect more from Hilton.
Positives: The decor was wonderful, and the room was comfortable.
Negatives: Not close enough to public Metro.

The hotel was wonderfully located near Dupont Circle as well as downtown DC. It had all the amenities necessary to make my stay comfortable. The front desk allowed an early check-in for me, and they were very accommodating to my requests.
Positives: Very comfortable bed.
Negatives: Bathroom was tiny.

Hotel was OK but for a 3+star hotel expected A little better, ie bigger bathroom, parking situation, no pool, and not so cheap with bath towels.
Positives: Restaurant had excellent dinner, front desk was helpful.
Negatives: No parking unless paid valet service, bathroom too small because of heat took two showers only gave us one one day.

The room decor was pretty nice and modern. Our room was very small though and we literally were tripping over our luggage. Despite being at the end of the hall we could hear the elevator ding as well as every step and conversation in the hall.
Positives: The room decor was modern.
Negatives: Room was tiny and very loud (from the hall).

The hotel was clean, neat, and tidy. The staff was the same though the staff did not seem happy. Not once was I asked if everything was OK. Really very little concern about their guest. Also there was no parking on sight the lot was full, and there was also a charge for parking that could have been less expensive.
Positives: If felt better then home, I could sleep on their linen and be comfortable.
Negatives: They put 3 of us in a small room with 1 double bed.
Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 13 Jul 2010 rated 10 out of 10.
Slightly removed but not far from the monuments or trendy bars and nightlife.
Positives: The beds were wonderful.
Negatives: The bar closed too early.

Hotel was clean, safe, and very friendly. Air conditioning is loud. Rooms are small. Good for a business traveler, but not for anyone with children. The hotel staff though made the stay pleasant and took care of us quite well.
Positives: The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Negatives: Very small rooms and tiny bathrooms. Air conditioning on 8th floor is extremely loud enough, so I had to request being moved to a lower floor room.

The hotel is gorgeous, the staff (from the front desk to the restaurant) is wonderful, and the rooms are very clean and spacious. I'd definitely stay here again.
Positives: Modern, clean, close to convention center (6-7 blocks).
Negatives: Not really near a subway station.

The hotel was nice. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It was situated close to the white house. Cabs were easy to find. The 4 AM fire alarm ruined my stay but I don't know how common they are.
Positives: Conveniently located. Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Good restaurant.
Negatives: 4 AM fire alarm ruined my night's sleep.

This hotel was great. The staff was super friendly and nice. The location is perfect. I wish we had one more sitting chair in the room, but I was happy with everything! When we returned home from our stay in DC, we told everyone how great the people were and how great our hotel was.
Positives: The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times.
Negatives: I wish they had coffee in the lobby, even a Keurig one-cup coffee maker.

Overall it was an okay experience. I don't think I would choose this hotel on my own. It didn't meet my expectations of a *3.5. However, the staff was very friendly.
Positives: The staff was very friendly.
Negatives: Very small lobby and bathroom.

The hotel is in a perfect location - you can walk to Logan Circle for a good dinner or gelato, short walk to the White House and little longer to the Musuems and Memorials. The room and bathroom was too small for 4 people.
Positives: The warm chocolate chip cookies at check in were a nice touch after a 3 hour drive. The bartender had fresh coffee made at 9 pm just for us.
Negatives: The bathroom was pretty small.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 03 Apr 2010 rated 4 out of 10.
Not very good. Public areas were dirty, elevators small, rooms smaller NOT for the family - for that stay at the Embassy Suites in Alexandria. Business support was feeble could not get a document to print from my computer despite paying the extortionate $10 for room internet - finally had to send the document to the desk clerk's personal email. Breakfast costs were outrageous. Go to Du Pont circle instead.

Positives: Cheap.
Negatives: Poor business support functions.

Had not stayed with doubletree in years; I'm a Marriott card holder, but decided to try Priceline for the first time. Room was very comfortable despite small size.
Positives: The phone message from manager, seamless attitude to attain 10.
Negatives: No jacuzzi. Need better recycling program.

Nice, moderate walking distance from any public transportation. Staff can be friendly but the morning staff seemed to careless.
Positives: It was clean.
Negatives: Staff overall was not friendly seemed forced.

The staff was very nice and helpful. They are welcoming to children. The room size was decent for our short stay, though the bathroom was too cramped.
Positives: Very nice and helpful staff.
Negatives: Bathroom was too small.
