Right from the start, I was completely turned off...the woman who checked me in at the front desk was abrupt. I was staying overnight with a friend who just had eye surgery at the Yale eye clinic. I checked in and she gave us a Queen bed, when I asked for two double beds, she said there was an additional charge. My understanding is that if the beds are available, they should accommodate with no additional fee since that's the contracted price. When I told her that I had never heard of such a thing, Since my friend needed her space after surgery and we aren't gay..I felt like I had no choice but to pay the fee, but I was really annoyed. I feel like I should be refunded the extra fee.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: I was very annoyed when they charged me extra for double beds, I have never had this happen before it should be against policy.

It worked for the 2 days I had to stay for my daughters college.

Positives: I liked the continental breakfast the best.

Negatives: The bathroom ceiling leaked water.

This is a small hotel right in an awkward location at the back of a parking lot next to an abandoned commercial building on the highway. It is ugly, and unfriendly looking. Once inside, we were greeted by a man at the check in desk who was not particularly friendly and smiled not once in our interactions. He gave us our key to a fourth floor room and when we got there, we discovered an extremely small hotel room with a single bed. As we had two adults and a four and five year old child, this was not workable. We called down to see if we could get switched to a room with two beds. We were told that this was not their standard room, not what we had reserved, and that they would charge us for an upgrade. We accepted the charge, and he was able to switch us to our new room fairly quickly. The hotel seemed almost abandoned, there were so few cars in the parking lot and so few people in and out. It was almost spooky. The room was not quite &quot;motel&quot; quality, but it wasn't in great condition. The bathtub/shower in particular were in awful shape (including extremely low water pressure), so much that it was difficult to tell whether it was actually clean. We checked the beds for bed bugs, however, and did not find any, so decided to stay. We went down for a swim, but the water was very cold, and the chemicals seemed out of balance (from my instinct as a pool owner myself) such that I worried it might not be sanitized properly. We did not stay in the pool long. The beds were fairly comfortable, though the pillows a bit on the uncomfortable side, and there was free Internet and some<BR/>TV channels as promised. We had read on the Internet that the hotel had a full breakfast. We would call it semi-full. It was mostly continental, but eggs and sausage were also available. For a complimentary breakfast, it was pretty good. The check-out staff person was friendlier than the check-in person.

Positives: The availability of a free breakfast. It was mostly continental, but there were eggs and sausage available as well.

Negatives: Right on the highway, rude check-in staff, &quot;nickeled and dimed,&quot; standard room was tiny with one small, single bed, and the pool was very cold.

Decent enough for the price. Room was smallish.

Positives: Efficient front desk.

Negatives: The slightly musty smell of an old hotel.

Positives: Location was the prime reason for choosing this hotel.

Negatives: Room telephone was not connected.

This is the first time that I was not satisfied with the hotel. The mattress did not line up with the box spring, the curtains had water stains and the couch was definitely not clean. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting more than a bed and a roof.

Positives: When we needed a replacement iron, the staff was prompt in bringing us a brand new one.

Negatives: The bed was uncomfortable and the curtains and couch were stained.

It's time to replace the dated features. The main entrance front door looked like it was about to fall off, and the shower was Nasty, with a showerhead that struggled to deliver water.

Positives: The pool was clean and uncrowned. Continental breakfast was decent.

Negatives: The external and internal appearance of the hotel badly needs refurbishing.

Someone working at this motel is stealing cc #'s and making fraudulent charges. And my receipt and my motel receipt amounts didn't match. I paid for my stay in advance through why was my cc authorized 3 times during stay, and amounts don't match? As for the hotel in general, it is very quiet. The indoor pool is not heated and is very cold!

Positives: Location to my sons doctors office.

Negatives: Was called by desk clerk and asked for 3 digit security code on back of my cc. Then told by mange. That fraudulent charges had been showing on other g.

Room was fine/plenty of cable stations to watch. Food places were across the street and next door. Was there for Dr. appointment in New Haven, easy on off of I-95. Would stay there again.

Positives: It was easy on/off from I-95--variety of food places next door.

Negatives: Noise from the highway.

This was unusual. The booking was for Graduation weekend at Yale which puts the Hotels in great demand and overpriced for that period. My wife reserved a room here for $225.00 per night as the best deal around. The hotel was only OK. Not your normal standard but not a normal weekend.

Positives: The room was very well set up.

Negatives: The hotel is old and not refurbished a little on the dingy side.

If you need quick access to New Haven and don't mind a rustic, 70s sort of experience, then this hotel is for you. A slight upgrade from Motel 6 with a limited continental breakfast with a lovely view of I95 with all the related sights and sounds.

Positives: Convenient location and price.

Negatives: Too loud next to hwy, dated rooms, smelly.
