Clean, roomy, comfortable, and it suited our needs.
Positives: They granted us a late check out.
Negatives: We were only there for 3 hours, so it met our needs.

The hotel is a little dated, but rooms were clean and the hotel staff was friendly. We were pleasantly surprised at the service and quality of the bar/restaurant. Food was excellent (Prime Rib!) and service was great! We especially liked the fact that locals ate there - that says something! Also, they support the troops - so more kudos! I would stay there for that alone.

Positives: The bar/restaurant was surprisingly very good.
Negatives: Decor is dated, but rooms are clean.

This hotel is awful from top to bottom.
Positives: The price only.
Negatives: Dirty, and they tried to put me in an apartment instead of the two rooms i had booked, looked like low income housing.

Good for a one night stay, but or room was very outdated.
Positives: Wait staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good with friendly waitress.
Negatives: The bed was small and mattress was in bad shape and noisy.

I would not recommend this hotel. It has a noticeable odor right when you entered and the room also smelled. The bedspread had a burn hole in it although was supposed to be non-smoking. We ate breakfast there and both our omelets had spoiled mushrooms in them yet we weren't offered anything as a substitution and they insisted they were not and we were billed for them. The bedspread (not comforter) had a burn hole in it. First time I ever stayed anywhere where I felt I had to look for bedbugs and even kept my bags off the floor just in case. We disliked the place so much that we did not stay the second night that we had already paid for.
Positives: Staff was friendly, other than that, nothing.
Negatives: The entire place smelled terrible and the mushrooms in both of our omelets were spoiled.

The hotel is a great location to area businesses. It has a small, family run feel in a lodge like setting. The public spaces are fine, the rooms are very outdated and mine smelled like they were trying to mask heavy smoking even though the room was supposed to be nonsmoking. There is no gym or pool, but I understand they offer passes to another facility.
Positives: It has a nice lodge feeling and the staff has good old fashion charm. Feels like a small, family run operation-that is a pro and a con.
Negatives: The rooms are very outdated. Not unclean, just old and the walls are paper thin. Feels like a small, family run operation-that is a pro and a con.

The room was spacious. There was a coffee maker with real mugs. The front desk people and the housekeeping staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfasts were delicious and hearty servings. The carafe of juice on the table was very nice. Very clean.
Positives: The complementary breakfast was the complete restaurant menu, not just muffins and coffee AND the staff was extremely friendly.
Negatives: The outside stairs to get to our room.

For my purposes at this deeply discounted price a good deal, clearly they are trying to improve and care about your stay, they have a ways to go.
Positives: Clean and
Negatives: Rough and worn towels and linens.

Positives: Very large rooms!
Negatives: No free breakfast.

We would go back to this hotel again. Friendly and cleaner than most in that area and price range.
Positives: Clean and
Negatives: Small bathrooms. Sink & vanity room should have a door.

Great staff, very clean and in a great location. Will gladly stay again. It was so close to Mystic, and the casinos.
Positives: Clean, comfortable, conveniently located right off 95.
Negatives: I can't think of anything I didn't like!

I would never recommend this hotel. First of all, the room was a distance from the main lobby and restaurant. The room was dark and dingy. Even though the staff tried to accommodate us with a roll away bed (I believed I picked two double beds at booking time), the roll away had a metal bar in the middle, which made it impossible to sleep on! The next morning, we went to the restaurant for breakfast, and the waitress barely acknowledged us and when we ordered our food, she didn't look at us either, just took the order. The food was good and reasonable. When it came to getting the check, the waitress, once again didn't ask how things were or even acknowledge our paying. I left a tip, but I don't believe she deserved one! I informed the hotel staff at check out about these things and although they were apologetic about our circumstances, there was nothing they could do.
Positives: Location only.
Negatives: The room was dirty looking (found some bugs on the floor!)

We felt somewhat awkward when we were checking in, the staff seemed taken aback that we recieved such a good discount. Other then that one instance, the staff was very friendly and helpful.Although they were clean, the sheets did not have that crisp feeling of well laundered sheets, that was a little dissappointing. The pillows were flat and hard, but overall, the room was well appointed. The only real complaint we had was being able to hear every footsep from above, and to hear a lot of noise from the rooms surrounding us. Not parting or extra loud noise, nor did we hear voices, but the bumping and banging of just drawers being closed or things being set down. This the first time in all my years of traveling that I was made so consiously aware of my neighboring rooms.I was very pleased with Priceline overall, and have already recommended using it to my friends.
Positives: Very clean, with a lot of unexpected ammenities. They had SPEED channel!
Negatives: The walls and ceiling were paper thin!!!!

Great location. Check your room carefully when you check in, 1st room was not nice at all,<BR/> it was in a separate building from the main hotel, there were flies all over the ceiling that started flying around when we walked in. Front desk was very nice about it and moved us to a room in the main hotel which was so much nicer, larger, and no bugs! Not the newest place, but it was good for the price. The bathtub drained a little slowly and the walls were thin - we could hear the people in the room above opening their closet sliding door and walking around. For the price, it was fine.
Positives: Excellent location.
Negatives: 1st room had bugs all over.

First appearance from external standpoint is good, but upon entering the most significant negative is unpleasant odor (not sure of its source and/or cause, but probably just age of carpet, paint, etc. which has been masked by cleaning chemicals). I'm a professional real estate broker who would consider this particular hotel a good candidate for rehab, remodeling, refurbishing, etc.
Positives: Economical price; good parking & room access; good access to interstate system.
Negatives: Bad odor in all common areas & room.

The beds were so uncomfortable, we actually checked out early, staying only one of the two nights. One half of my (full) bed was completely worn and the other half was rock hard. They need to invest in some decent beds. I have never experienced anything like this at any other hotel or motel. Also, the air conditioner was poorly placed, about 2 feet away from one of the beds, so the on-off noise from the AC unit kept me awake. The bathroom was extremely small. As far as cleanliness, it was decently clean. Everything about the place was extremely outdated. I would not recommend this hotel.
Positives: The hotel was decently clean, despite how outdated it was.
Negatives: The beds were the worst beds I have ever slept on, in a hotel or otherwise!

Arrival was quick and painless as well as check in. My room was not actually in the guts of the hotel. It was in what seemed to be a couple of houses on the property that were made into separate suites. It was clean, easy to find and close. The bed could have been a tad bit bigger and more comfy but it served its purpose. I would stay there again!
Positives: Quick access to Root 95 and very easy to find!
Negatives: I wish it was a tiny bit closer to Mohegan Sun but it was not too far.

We had a wedding to attend in Groton and wanted to stay at a nice, clean hotel nearby. Upon arrival the receptionist told my husband we would be in a room with one double bed and that was all she had (not a queen or king bed nor a room with two double beds, any of which would be normal for the hotel industry in the US these days). I went back in and demanded a larger bed as our baby sleeps with us and a double bed was not sufficient. She came up with a king bed (that had a full kitchen in the room as well - don't know whether that's standard). The room was very dark, outdated, mixed furniture, and rather dank all around. The next morning we called to ask where the breakfast that was included with the room was served. I would pay more and stay elsewhere next time we have to stay in Groton.
Positives: There was a full kitchen in our suite.
Negatives: NA.

The hotel staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. We went on the 4th of July weekend and even though it was busy it did not feel like it was crowded. It was in a good location as we went to Newport and Mohegan Sun. We would go back again but get a non smoking room!
Positives: The all you can eat Prime Rib Dinner was at a reasonable price and the staff was very nice.
Negatives: The smell of the room. We had a smoking room and did not smoke but it smelled very stale.

The people at the front desk were helpful enough. The hotel room was small. The bed was hard and lumpy. The A/C unit in the room did not function well; it was difficult to control the temp. Room too hot, it got stuffy and our noses stuffed up. If we turned the temp down, it got too cold in the room. We figured that the A/C unit needed its filters changed. Also, no ventilation at all in the bathroom (made it difficult to deal with the odors after using the toilet). But with all this, we must say that the room was clean when we arrived and cleaned each day of our stay.
Positives: Close to points of interest, close to highways.
Negatives: Rooms away from main building need updating; bathrooms have no ventilation.

Staff was very good, accessible to route 95; coastal and beaches, casinos. Outside of the weather being non bleachable (hey this is New England - unpredictable). We found the overall experience was good. Nice restaurant nearby. The ground round -super market across Blvd and shopping nearby were assets.
Positives: Staff, obliging, courteous, spaciousness of suite.
Negatives: Requested a non-smoking room - no got! Staff ionized room, yet funky smell remained.

Direction was very easy to follow and quick to find. Just close from the exit.
Positives: Everything was near in the surrounding area, the store right across from it.
Negatives: No comments.

Overall the stay was fine for a 2 star hotel. The title floor in the bathroom was crack and unleveled and the bottom wall tile was cracked bearing staying together. The biggest stink was the smell in the hotel. I've never experienced anything like that in any hotels/motels that I have stayed at.
Positives: The renovation of the hotel was nice.
Negatives: The nursing home smell. I would recommend that they invest some $ in air freshener and/or cleaning products.

A good no frills hotel for a short stay.
Positives: Economical and convenient.
Negatives: Older, poor decor, dark.

Located just off of I-95. Across the street is a Walmart. Super friendly housekeepers and desk personnel. A fantastic hotel for business travelers. A business center with internet access and printer and fax in a dedicated suite upstairs. Free wireless and hardwire internet. On-site diner. Monday through Friday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm was cocktail hour. Very nice hotel.
Positives: Efficiency suite well equipped to handle
Everyday meal cooking.
Negatives: The security light directly outside my rooms main window. Lit up the bedroom at night.

It was clean and comfortable. The amenities in-room were excellent for this level of hotel. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly, courteous, helpful or efficient. I would stay there again.
Positives: They had a lot of basic amenities like a fridge, microwave, etc.
Negatives: A lot of hallway noise in the room.

The smell of the air freshener was enough to give my wife an intense headache. We opened windows and the door to get some of the smell out, but even after doing this for an hour, it was not much of an improvement. We asked at the desk for an air filter or ionizer and was told that they were locked up for the night! That made no sense to us, and we had to go back and sleep with the windows open (backed up on a highway), and a shoe in the door to insure air flow. Thank God, there was a breeze, and the beds were comfortable.
Positives: It was very clean, and had updated colors.
Negatives: It had been sprayed with some kind of heavy air freshener.

Very convenient location right off the highway (but far enough that you don't hear the traffic) and a short distance away from the casinos and tourist attractions. I will definitely stay here again.
Positives: Convenient. Nice hotel for the money.
Negatives: The fan in the bathroom didn't work.
