Vernon is an unincorporated town and a US Post Office located in Yuma County, Colorado. The Vernon Post Office has the ZIP Code 80755. Vernon also has an excellent volunteer Fire Department, which belongs to the Yuma County Fire Protection District. The town of Vernon still has the "old school" which is now the Vernon Community Center. This building host many events to clubs and organizations. Vernon's Mascot was the Bobcats and the colors were Purple and Yellow. The local 4-H group is ACE HIGH, which was established in 1937, and is still running and has many youth from the area involved around 35 including the cloverbuds. Vernon is a nice small community that is working on keeping up with the current trends.
