It is located 5 miles west of Echo Summit, at an elevation of 6115 feet. Right after the town, the US 50 eastbound starts a steep ascent to Echo Summit passing Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort shortly before the summit.
If you are travelling in the area, Twin Bridges is located close to Lawrence Lake, Fannette Island, Gertrude Lake, Dry Lake and Pyramid Peak.
