Quincy is community and the county seat of Plumas County, California. Quincy is named after the city of Quincy, Illinois. The town is noted as being the home of the High Sierra Music Festival, which is celebrating its 21st year in 2011. The Quincy Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring their second annual Crawfish Festival on Father's Day June 2011. Quincy is also the home town of Major League Baseball utility outfielder, Jason Ellison, who was born in Quincy in 1978.
