I've stayed at the Ventana Canyon twice before, and the experience has been consistently good. The staff is very friendly and the setting is beautiful. The grounds are spectacular and the hotel is generally quiet and comfortable.
Positives: Beautiful setting in the foothills.
Negatives: Wireless internet and business center printing not included in the price

It was nice the staff was friendly but
I don't think it was better than embassy suites. Their room are always cleaned excellent while this one was not.
I was just glad
I found the glass on the floor before on of my kids steeped on it. Plus they charge for the kids activities 40.00 per child and i have 4 that was crazy. The walls are not that thick and i could hear when people walked or tailed through the hallway.
Positives: The pool and the hugh tub for my kids to have a fun time in a bubble bath.
Negatives: The room was not cleaned properly the was broken glass on the carpet and a plastic container under the bed. Plus you can hear people in the hallway.

Excellent place to stay.
Positives: Excellent location, and great atmosphere.
Negatives: The pool facilities were crowded.

Lots of great views, kid friendly, pet friendly. Nice staff, pleasant surroundings. Food and drinks expensive on site but lots of nearby local eateries and pubs. Would not suggest for a romantic getaway but more for "a taking the kids to cool off for a weekend and bringing poochie or kitty along".
Positives: Great location, nice views, good value.
Negatives: Rooms could have been a bit cleaner and up to date - not a deal breaker - I am fussy.

I have staycationed at this hotel 3 times this summer, love, love, love it. Will definitely return. Try the Guacamole at the pool bar, it is great!
Positives: It is a beautiful hotel with wonderful desert surroundings. Very upscale.
Negatives: The pool was very crowded, but it was 101 degrees!

My husband and I, being given a night alone after a generous offer of babysitting from my parents, wanted to steal away to a local spot for one night of good, restful sleep. We named our own price and got a decent deal at a local resort, Loews Ventana Canyon.
There's a lot to like at this facility--stunning views of both mountain and city alike, and activities to make you feel like summer camp. However, all we really wanted was a comfortable bed! And while everything else was resort-like, the bed was not. Hard and uncomfortable, I woke up several times in the night just to adjust. Yet, waking up to beautiful mountain views while having coffee on our lovely patio helped to ease the pain.
I had been looking forward to a morning at the pool, only to find it crowded--insufficient chairs and general untidiness made it hard to get around. When we did slip into the pool for a dip, we didn't stay in too long... it was very cold! Overall, it was nice to get away for a night and I'm sure we'll return... but I'll just be crossing my fingers for a heated pool and updated mattresses.
Positives: Beautiful outdoor spaces with gorgeous views.
Negatives: Bed was hard and uncomfortable, pool was crowded and cold.

The hotel was wonderful. My wife and I enjoyed the place very much. The only thing was the double beds weren't wide enough for my wife and I to sleep together. They did not have a king or at least they told us there weren't any kings available. Other than that the place was the perfect get away for us
Positives: The food.
Negatives: The double beds were too small for my wife and I to sleep together.

We were given a meeting room to sleep in. The room was nice, but the bed was a murphy pull down bed. It was in a plywood box and of very poor quality. We did not sleep well at all as the bed was very uncomfortable. There was no headboard so our pillows kept falling off the bed. Also, the bed was on the floor and difficult to get into and out off.
Positives: Nice resort feeling.
Negatives: The bed was a pull out bed and of very poor quality.

This was one of the most peaceful places I have stayed. I loved all the water, the pond, the waterfall coming out of the mountain, and the pool. Loved the view from our room. It was amazing. The staff was excellent. The hotel itself is luxurious and has lots of extras. Great shops as well.
Positives: Our room overlooked the beautiful mountains, waterfall, and pond below. The tub is huge! The trails and water on the grounds are amazing.
Negatives: Could hear people in the hallway.

Nice location with great ambiance. There is a trail behind the hotel that leads to a waterfall. Great city views from the south side.
Positives: The staff from the registration to housekeeping, the best!
Negatives: No mini refrigerator in the room (mini bar instead).

This is a lovely hotel/resort in a very nice part of Tucson. However, some might find the Foothills area inconvenient.
Positives: Very good choice if you want to be in the Foothills.
Negatives: $11/day fee for Internet access - a service many cheaper hotels provide for free.

Beautiful grounds in a natural setting. Well maintained with a friendly staff. Rooms are large and comfortable with a elegant feel. Balconies largest enough to enjoy being on.
Positives: Natural location and grounds.
Negatives: Charging excessive amounts for extras that are usually free in less expensive hotels like internet connection.

This hotel had modern style, very spacious rooms, and was in a very tranquil setting in the foothills of Tucson. The landscaping is gorgeous and the staff is very friendly.
Positives: This resort is like an oasis in the desert. Very beautiful.
Negatives: It takes a long time to walk from the lobby to the room, depending on where your room is located.

Attractive lobby with many sitting areas where you can relax in a living room setting. Flying V restaurant/bar is very good plus has stunning views overlooking the golf course, ponds and the hotel. Excellent golf, tennis and spa on site, including an adult-only pool. Beautiful nature trail along with pool/hot tub areas and other outdoor sitting areas. Easy parking with little need to use valet parking services. Use bell staff if you bring much luggage, as there is 1 central entrance/elevator creating a long way to haul bags. Nicely decorated and quiet rooms, each with a balcony; city/canyon view was great.
Positives: Great staff that was very friendly, helpful and professional throughout our stay.
Negatives: Only 1 central elevator bank for this sprawling hotel. Long way to haul luggage; use the bell staff!

Friendly staff and gorgeous views!
Positives: I liked the atmosphere in the lobby/bar area and the view from the hotel room.
Negatives: I thought, the deluxe king upgrade would have been a little bigger. It seemed to be the same size as normal room.

We have stayed several times at Ventana Canyon. The rooms are large, nicely decorated, and clean. The bathroom is beautiful and all have a large bathtub! The pool area is pretty - nice landscaping and also has a hot tub and cold water waterfall area. During the heat of the day, the pool offers snacks such as chilled grapes or cucumbers or a small cup of ice cream. They also bring around chilled cloths to help cool off. It's a great place to stay!
Positives: This hotel has great bathrooms! Each one has a large bathtub big enough for 2 people!
Negatives: Lounge chairs at the pool are older and I suggest they be replaced.

The bathroom was amazing in my room. Every amenity and then some. Housekeeping was great and my baby had a crib to sleep in not just a pack-and-play.
Positives: I loved the labels on the trails around the hotel grounds letting you know more about plants and animals there. It was a beautiful walk to the pool.
Negatives: My room had a very loud

It exceeded my expectations. Our room had a nice desert view. Spent a day at the pool and the attendants were wonderful. They arranged 3 umbrellas to give us enough shade. The spa special was very relaxing and the therapist was very good. We enjoyed eating outdoors and the nature walk ending at the waterfall was beautiful. We requested a refrigerator for our room and they brought it. We used the concierge for several trips and restaurant suggestions and she was very helpful.
Positives: Nature trail, spa, pool, and service.
Negatives: Closed outdoor café for breakfast dining due to large group.

Very nice resort. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Our room was fantastic, very warm and inviting with a super cool bathtub in the bathroom, even comes with a TV in there too. The balcony was cool with romantic greenery all around. The pool is inviting and the hot tubs looked appealing. Lots of walking trails for a casual stroll on the grounds.
Positives: Really nice room, the huge bathtub was cool. The complimentary small fridge to store our own food was a nice touch. Impressive grounds, great time!
Negatives: Didn't like having to pay $9 for parking. There were plenty of empty parking spots so I didn't care for this charge.

We made our reservation and they accepted our price. When we arrived they said there were no king bed rooms available. The parking lot was at a max 30 percent full and we arrived late that evening. All indications were the hotel was at 30 percent occupancy.
Positives: Hotel surroundings, landscaping.
Negatives: When I arrived they said all the king bed rooms were taken, although the parking lot was 30 percent full.

The resort is located in Ventana Canyon and has gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. The manicured green golf course and shimmering lake make a striking contrast to the reds and yellows of the mountains. Hiking trails, pools and golf are great options for the physically active traveler. Rooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable and modern in feel. Plush robes are provided in the rooms and the toiletries are first rate. buffet breakfast was excellent (choices, quality) though pricey.
Positives: Location/views, room amenities.
Negatives: Grounds poorly marked at night, hard to find room.
