The Fall Blackwater Bluegrass Festival 2009 The 2009 fall festival was a bit cooler and wetter than in years past but the music, as always, was great!
The fall festival saw some new faces on the Stage. The Langfords, Bent Creek and Grasstowne. Grasstowne brought a ton on IBMA and other prestigious bluegrass awards to the stage on Saturday. Grasstowne's latest project, "The Other side of Towne" was on sale at Blackwater even before it hit stores. Also at this year's fall festival were Marty Rabon, Clear Blue Sky, and The Campbell Trio. The weather threatened and it did rain some, but with the facilities at Blackwater Bluegrass, everybody stayed dry. Festival owner Geroge Deavours planned for inclement weather by building a huge shed area that is almost like a amphitheater facing the stage. That means that even when it rains, the music comes through clear as a bell and the crowd stays dry.
