Good location, next to the convention center and close to downtown. Fairly tired facilities, though the beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms need updating. Airport shuttle is a nice amenity, especially since there is a public trolley stop right outside the hotel, so no rental car required for a short business trip.
Positives: Location and airport shuttle.
Negatives: Bathroom had an old, cruddy, rubber mat in the tub.

Great hotel but no free internet
Positives: Quality
Negatives: price of internet

The hotel was okay, but did not live up to its name. I've always thought the Sheraton was suppose to be really nice. The room did not even have a refrigerator or microwave.
Positives: Friendly staff.
Negatives: No microwave or refrigerator in room very inconvenient.

I have stayed at the Sheraton several times with Priceline. Price is very reasonable, but the hotel does try take advantage of it's "remoteness" (can't walk to other restaurants). $20 for breakfast is a bit too much. There is free wi-fi in a small area in the lobby... and I do mean small. I was only at the bar only 30 feet from the location of the free PC's, but I couldn't use the free access. The parking garage is behind the Sheraton, but the hike to the lobby and the room seems like 2 blocks. The room was comfortable
Positives: The facilities are good. Has two bars, a Sports Bar and a quiet Bar.
Negatives: Having to pay for Internet Access. Parking is a chore.

Looks good until you stay there and experience having to call for room to be cleaned and towels to be provided. $20.00 at least per meal including breakfast, $12.00 per night to park, rude staff and no local restaurants in the area.
Positives: Front entry appearance.
Negatives: Poor housekeeping, expensive, poor location, $12.00 per day to park.

We got this hotel on Priceline and was decently priced. I must say. Hotel was in good location and was spotless. However, the bathroom was small. What makes me not wanting to stay would be that, no breakfast provided, (on top of it, there are no cheaper places to eat around) and very expensive parking and Internet. On top of it, tips will begin to hurt when they keep providing unsought help.
Positives: Easy access to most places and very clean.
Negatives: Expensive parking (20$) no amenities like breakfast or even Internet (14$.)

For Business the hotel was sufficient. The rooms do not have wireless Internet so you have to go down to the lobby to use their hub. That was a bit of an inconvenience along with the parking if you didn't valet. All in all, it was a good stay.
Positives: It's location worked pretty well for what I was in town for.
Negatives: The parking. Parking deck across the street, then sky walk, then down escalator then back up elevator.

We had some issues with poor functioning A/C, hot water and bath-tub drainage.
Positives: Excellent location with access to downtown and interstate highway.
Negatives: Paid Parking ($12 per day); Paid Internet Access in rooms; No Wireless Access in Rooms.

Very nice clean hotel in downtown Birmingham.
Positives: Nice, clean and impressive looking hotel.
Negatives: Our first key did not work, elevators were slow, got second key and the bed was unmade.

Hotel looks great. Recently remodeled and it is very nice for the price. There were not any good places to eat, that we could find, downtown.
Positives: Nice hotel for the price.
Negatives: Lack of good restaurants within downtown later at night.

Beautiful facility. I felt very secure being by myself during my stay there. Used their business computer facility, too. Very helpful staff!
Positives: Free airport shuttle! Clean rooms, great price through you!
Negatives: What's not to like?

The area of the hotel was not desirable. The room was very small, not clean and there was no hot water. The tub did not drain so our cold shower was more like a swim. They also do not let deliveries of food come to your room so you have to go to the lobby to retrieve your order.
Positives: Most of the staff.
Negatives: No hot water and tub would not drain and it was not really clean.

The hotel is very comfortable and the room was very comfortable. Being a downtown area, parking was a premium.
Positives: Location to interstate and the price through Priceline.
Negatives: Paid parking.

The hotel is in a downtown location with easy access to freeways. Parking is reasonable ($12 self park) but it is a distance from the hotel lobby. The business center is attractive and convenient. The rooms will need remodeling soon as they are showing wear, but everything was clean. Bed was very comfortable and sheets/towels were of high quality. Big flat screen TV was provided. No free WiFi in rooms but there is access in the business center.
Positives: The staff was friendly.
Negatives: The facility is showing wear but was clean.

We will not be staying there again. Parking is a real hassle, and the housekeeper was poorly trained. Restaurant food was poor and plenty of it.
Positives: Nice room.
Negatives: Maid took our coffee supplies and lied about it.

Clean, comfortable, and elegant.
Positives: Extra clean, super comfortable bed.
Negatives: Adjacent parking charges not mentioned.

The hotel was very nice and upscale. My only disappointment was that the front desk and concierge staff were aloof to the pain of rudeness. However, other staff members, such as the bell hop and bar staff were more friendly and welcoming.
Positives: Hotel had nice design.
Negatives: The staff was aloof, at best, with the exception of the bell hop.

This is a nice hotel and I would recomend it.
Positives: Convenien parking garage with walkway to Hotel
Negatives: Our tub drained slowly and the coffee maker still had old coffee in it.

Located right at the Birmingham Convention Center downtown, near everything needed, plenty of amenities, good hotel, good choice.
Positives: Good solid hotel, good location, plenty to do nearby.
Negatives: Nothing.

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere downtown Birmingham. Be prepared to pay for parking and every cup of coffee you don't drink in your room. We were put in a room farthest from the elevator with the worst view. Worst was that the room wasn't even properly prepared for a guest; big stain on the floor, missing towels, coffee, all soap/shampoo.
Positives: The room was spacious; beds very comfortable.
Negatives: Had to call for towels, coffee, shampoo and soap.

This hotel is in bad need of renovation. Will not stay there again.
Positives: Close to interstate.
Negatives: Old looking.
Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 01 Mar 2010 rated 5 out of 10.
While the rooms were perfectly nice, the common spaces in the hotel were dirty and loud. There were random paint patches in different colors all over the walls and some of the stucco was chipping. The elevators were quite slow and the general feel of the common areas of the hotel was "creepy".
<BR/>
Positives: The room itself was very nice with a large television.
Negatives: It was extremely loud and felt very dirty in the common spaces.

I'm a frequent business traveler and would highly recommend this Sheraton. The nicest Sheraton I've seen and very close to being 4 star caliber. I was in the renovated atrium section which is nice.
Positives: Just as nice as other 4 star hotels, reasonable parking and internet fees. Also, free internet in public spaces!
Negatives: TV's need updating. Parking garage is on a one way street, and a small walk.

Nice convention hotel.
Positives: Easy access next to interstate.
Negatives: Since there was no convention, there were no guest, we were on the 9th floor with nobody else around.

Located next to civic center and convention center. Close to city center.
Positives: Located close to the financial district..
Negatives: A charge for parking.

Great stay at a great price, this is why we use Priceline.
Positives: Location, design of the hotel, size of room.
Negatives: Parking was not great but okay.

Clean, upscale rooms with friendly unpretentious staff. Convention Center was not my first pick but was easily accessible to Five Points by cab. For a single traveler, hotel was great but would have preferred different location.
Positives: Very clean, comfortable, cozy room and friendly unpretentious staff.
Negatives: Location was too industrial- I bid on hotel for Central Birmingham, hotel great, area slightly unsafe.
