Buttersville Campground is a campground located in Ludington.
Buttersville Park and Campground is an 18.5 acre, state-licensed campground. Located on the high bluff shores of Lake Michigan, there is no better spot to enjoy spectacular sunsets. The park is heavily wooded, so it's cool and comfortable throughout the season. Stairs lead down to the beach, and another beach access point at the north end of the campground is available to walk without stairs. Playground areas are available for the kids, and there's a boat launch nearby at Pere Marquette Lake.
Fresh water is available at the campground. Flush toilets and a shower facility are also part of the park’s services. All campsites have electricity, a picnic table, and a fire ring. The campground is dog-friendly (see further comments on the webpage). A limited number of sites are available for reservation; call after May 1.
While the somewhat isolated location of Buttersville is part of its charm, ice is available on-site, and there is a convenience store located within a few miles. Restaurants a-plenty (fine restaurants, family dining, ethnic, and fast food) are no more than 5-8 miles away. Gas stations, hardware, discount, and grocery stores are also plentiful.
The community offers a wide variety of pasttimes, from animal farms to Historic White Pine Village to movie theaters, disk golf, and mini-golf, just to name a few.
Local dining options close to Buttersville Campground include James Street Station Restaurant, Love Wines, The Q Smokehouse, and The Blu Moon.
