Alpine Resort Of Presque Isle

For a family wedding, 5 cabins were rented by my immediate family. My daughter gave 6 weeks notice that she was not going to rent there, due to the 3 night restriction and high cost. When they arrived into town a day early, I suggested she and her family split their stay between my cabin and my nieces cabin so all of the kids could be at the same resort. Kim told me flat out and VERY rudely, in front of others, "If they don't stay in their own cabin, they cannot stay here at all." AREYOUKIDDINGME? . If my cabin houses 4 guests, it's not up to her who I choose to stay there. They need to get the dollar signs out of their eyes and start treating people like humans. Since this was a family wedding, I didn't want to cause trouble, so I agreed to her threat and spent the extra $537 to keep the peace. I'm still kicking myself for not standing up to her.
A day later, we were "talked to" for having my 10, 11 and 12 year old grandchildren and nieces stay overnight in our cabin. Our cabin sleeps 4, but the kids put us over by ONE 10 year old. She said "I know you had a party over there-don't try to hide it." She mentioned the septic system not being able to keep up, and making sure we didn't ruin their sheets on the pull out sofa.
The day my daughters 3 nights were up, I was called at 9:34am, for prompt payment since check out is at 9:30am. (Seriously, read the contract- it states check out is 9:30am and YES, THIS MEANS YOU!) And she mentioned to me that she knew my daughters car was gone. (Yes, because they went golfing.) Oh, and they suggest to pay by check since they will charge you a surcharge for using a credit card. (Which probably goes against their contract with their credit card bank, I wouldn't doubt.) I'm so glad I didn't pay with a credit card, because I read another review about her charging someone's card without their approval.
The cabin my daughter stayed in isn't even level, and you feel like your going to fall when you are in the kitchen. The showers were small and makeshift. Ours had no shower head and the shower floors were horrid dark concrete of some kind. The outside of the cabins are painted flat black. There is ONE kayak. They are terribly overpriced for what you get.
You will not be given keys to your cabin and obviously you will be spied on. Either they are outside looking in or they have cameras or listening devices in each cabin.
I couldn't wait to leave- which must have happened to others before- because they clearly state in their contract that if you want to leave early, you will still pay for the time you reserved.
Good luck. (I fully expect some form of retaliation, and when it happens I'll be right back here to tell you all about it!)

Positives: Nice view of the water.
