Bear's Pine Woods Campground

Upon arrival the staff member and registration office smelled of cigeratte smoke. Once at the campsite given it was horrible, basically on an angle and full of gravel and rocks. I asked to be moved to tenting area which had grass/moss and some shade however it had not been cleaned of trash, there were dirty socks on the ground, bottle caps, egg shells etc. Once we set up our tent we went to the pool to cool off, once in the pool we noticed how dirty it was. A trip to the ladies room was horrible, flithy and old. There was a sign stating there would be no water between 10 PM and 7 AM due, how was one going to wash up and brush your teeth before going to bed? Landscaping was horrible, the owners state there are beach passes but they only had 7 for the entire campground, showers had mold growing on the walls. Negatives: I would never recommend this campground and I would never go back.

Bear's Pine Woods Campground

Although the staff is quite friendly, there seems to be a problem with keeping people in the type of site they require/request. We booked a pull-through site 4 months in advance only to arrive and be place in another spot, which they then again changed after seeing the length of our RV. Apparently, the size of RV and type of site requested is not written on the reservation, which seems to be an organizational issue. Also, the website pictures are extremely misleading. However, if you just want a place to park your RV or pitch a tent, (no cable TV)with full hook-ups (not enough 50 amp if any at all)and peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Positives: Very quiet. Always spots open. Pool. Free wi-fi. Friendly service.   Negatives: Disorganized booking procedures. Not guaranteed type of spot reserved. Hot water issues with the showers. 20 minute walk or 2 mile drive to lake. No BBQ grills, not even for tenters.
